Gospel Search seeking singers
The seventh annual Mountaire Gospel Talent Search is seeking entrants to claim the $30,000 in prize money being offered. The event will take place at the Bay Shore Community Church (formerly the Gumboro Community Church) in Gumboro March 11, 12 and 13. The judges for the three days of competition will be members of the Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. They will also provide mini concerts on Thursday and Friday and a two hour concert on Saturday night (there is a $10 charge for the two-hour concert and the others are free). In addition to the talent search, there will be clinics on starting a choir, locating music, recording, sound systems, lighting, backdrops, video, and still photography. Several new categories have been added including two for children - children’s choir and soloist. Some of the participants in the Gospel Talent Search will be selected to perform with “When You Believe,” a choir of winners and participants in past competitions. The group performs in benefit concerts for churches and non-profit groups, at community fairs, and many other events. For more information or to receive an entry form, phone 934-3123.
