Driver Safety Training
An AARP Driver Safety Course for people 50 and over will be given from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 3, at the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford. The two-day program, sponsored by the American Association for Retired Persons, stresses how older drivers may operate vehicles safely. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate entitling them to a reduction in their auto insurance. A 15 percent reduction is given to anyone repeating the program within three years. For information and registration, call 629-8081. The cost is $10 per person.

Symphony at Del Tech
“Bring a Friend, Sweetheart or Spouse” Saturday, Feb. 7, special rate for the winter concert presented by the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 p.m., at Delaware Technical & Community College, Rt. 18, Georgetown. Basket Bingo for Swim Team
Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club Barracudas swim team basket bingo featuring Longaberger baskets, Saturday, March 4, at 7 p.m. at the Western Sussex Club, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford. There will be 20 games with prizes as well as two raffles featuring a canister set and the woven panel chest. There will also be a drawing for a wrought iron corner stand with shelves. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Additional door prizes and refreshments will be available. Line Dance Workshop
Line Dance Workshop, Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. at the CHEER community Center in Georgetown. Local Instructors will be there as well as international, lead instructor and dance coordinator, Joanne Brady of Hockessin. Instruction will be offered for beginners as well as intermediate and advance. Pre-registration is $35 per person. Registration at the door is from 9-10 a.m. and is $45 per person. Lunch is included in the registration fee. From 4-7 p.m. you will be on your own. The dance will be from 7-11 p.m. Tickets for the dance only will be $10. For more information call 854-9500.

Father-Daughter Dance
Third annual Father/Father Figure and Daughter Dance, Friday, Feb. 6, 7-10 p.m., Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on High Street in downtown Seaford. The church’s Fellowship Hall will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland with a DJ, decorations, and refreshments. Fathers and father figures and daughters of all ages are invited. Tickets are $5 per person, but only 150 will be sold. Each family is asked to bring an appetizer or baked good to share. Pictures will be available at an extra charge. Tickets went on sale Jan. 1, and are available from David and Becky Genshaw, 629-9014; the Mt. Olivet Church Office, 629-4458; or any committee member.

Mardi Gras for Hope House
The theme is “Mardi Gras” at the Laurel Fire Hall, 8 p.m.-midnight, on Saturday, March 6. Price is $30 per person. Music by “The Honeycombs,” with all types of dancing. Finger food buffet, complimentary sodas, entertainment, silent auction, and much more. A cash bar. Singles are welcome; costumes are optional. Tickets will be available locally at Bev’s Spec’s, County Bank or Ambassador Travel. All proceeds will be used to support Hope House in Laurel.
