Valentine Symphony Concert Februrary 8
The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, “The Eastern Shore’s own,” professional symphony, presents a Valentine concert at 8 p.m. at the Delaware Technical and Community College Theater in Georgetown. Special “two for one” ticket offer: buy one ticket for $20 and bring a music loving friend free. Enjoy an evening of musical delight with Debussy, Haydn, Schubert and more. Father/Daughter Dance
The second Annual Father/Daughter Valentine’s Dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, from 7-10 p.m., where fathers and father figures and their daughters are invited to dance the night away and spend some quality time together. The dance will be held at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on High Street in Seaford. The church’s Fellowship Hall will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland. Tickets are $5 per person and only 150 will be sold so don’t delay in making your plans. Each family is asked to bring a baked good or treat to share. Special keepsake pictures will be available for purchase. Mothers who may want to help may contact the dance committee. Purchase tickets at the Mt. Mardela Bingo series
Mardela High School Band-Aides Inc. is holding a series of Bingo events to benefit the Mardela Middle and High School Bands and Band Front. Bingos are scheduled for Feb. 1, 15 and 22. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first game begins at 7 p.m. in the Mardela High cafeteria.

Homecoming at Epworth
Epworth Christian School is hosting Homecoming activities on Friday, Jan. 31. ECS faces Seaford Christian Academy in basketball games. Events begin at 5 p.m. with the Girls’ Varsity game. At 6:30 p.m. the Boys’ Varsity team will play, followed by Homecoming Court where King and Queen will be crowned. The public and all ECS Alumni are invited.

Bermuda Cruise
Dr. Marie Wolfgang is sponsoring a cruise to Bermuda as a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life.” The group will leave Seaford on a chartered motorcoach on Saturday, April 26, to board the Celebrity Line’s fabulous ship “Zenith,” sailing out of New York Harbor for a week of sun, fun, fine dining and sightseeing. Basket Bingo
Eastern Shore Lady Cats 16U Girls Fastpitch Softball will hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo at Delmarva Convention Center on Saturday, Feb. 22. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Games will start at 7 p.m. Price is $20 per person.

Delaware Equine Council
The Del. Equine Council monthly meeting to feature guest speaker, Joe McGowan, Farm Family Insurance - “Equine/Farm Insurance,” on Monday , Feb. 10, 7 p.m., followed by a short meeting at the Harrington (Raceway) Club House, in Harrington, US13 South. Valentine’s Dinner
A Valentine’s Dinner/Theatre Variety Show will be held at Dover Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover, on Friday, Feb. 14. Buffet at 6:30 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m. Cost is $35 per person. This is presented by “Tri-County Chorus” of the Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs. Valentine’s Day Dance
A Valentine's Day Dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the CHEER Community Center located on Sand Hill Road in Georgetown. The dance is open to the public and all ages. Dance with your darling on Valentine’s Day to the upbeat tunes of the popular local band, “The Cruzers.” Ticket proceeds will help support Sussex County Senior Services, Inc./CHEER and programs for Sussex County senior citizens. Ticket prices are $15 per person or $25 per couple. A cash bar will be available. Tickets can be picked up at the Community Center in Georgetown. For more information call 854-9500.

Bridal Show exhibitors
The Greater Millsboro Chamber of Commerce seeks exhibitors for the eighth annual Central Sussex Bridal Show at the Millsboro Civic Center, Wilson Highway and Mitchell Street, on Sunday, March 9. The Millsboro show is open to providers of products and services for the wedding party, such as apparel, catering, flowers, photography and video, decorating, hair and make-up, transportation, reception facilities, honeymoon travel and more. Also invited to exhibit are those who serve newlyweds’ needs for housing, furnishings, appliances, insurance, etc. Sherry Sutton of Village Green Florist in Millsboro is the show chairman. She cites the show’s popularity, registering more than 90 bridal parties last year. The Civic Center is large enough to feature a variety of exhibitors, and small enough to allow attendees to visit each booth, she notes. Outdoor space is available for carriage or limousine displays, manufactured homes, rental tents, and other large items. Show times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Three formal wear fashion shows by Candlelight Bridal of Millsboro will be featured. Many door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Choral Society rehearses
The Southern Delaware Choral Society has resumed its rehearsal schedule. The 75-voice choir is preparing for a performance of the Mozart “Requiem” to be presented May 17, 18, at Delaware Tech in Georgetown. New singers are welcome. Call 227-2227 for details.
