Broadway to come to SHS
Lee Lessack and Joanne O'Brien will perform "An Enchanted Evening: The Music of Broadway" Monday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. in the Seaford High School auditorium. This is the third concert of the 1999-2000 Seaford Community Concert Association series.
The show features selections of Broadway's favorite songs, from the enduring standards of Rogers and Hammerstein to new classics by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Like Oklahoma, West Side Story, South Pacific, Guys & Dolls, The King and I, Cats, and more.
Lessack has been featured in the annual Cabaret Convention in New York and in the West Coast Convention in San Francisco. He has a self-titled album to his credit. O'Brien was named one of New York's "Ten Most Promising Vocalists" and starred in numerous productions of Broadway musicals and operas.

Democrats to meet Feb. 7
The Sussex County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Monday, Feb. 7, 7 p.m. in room 555 of the Higher Education Building, Delaware Technical and Community College, Georgetown. The meeting's agenda will include candidate/campaign planning, bylaws, finance report and convention delegate debriefing. All representative district chairs will meet at 5:30 p.m. at 28 The Circle, Georgetown.
Sussex Democrats will meet the first Monday of every month in 2000 at the same time and place.

Looking for runners
Team Diabetes is a fund-raising program of the American Diabetes Association. It is recruiting runners and walkers to train for the Kona, Hawaii Marathon scheduled for June 25. Participants may run or walk a full marathon or half (26.2 miles), 10K or 5K in exchange for pledges collected for diabetes research.
A meeting about the run will be Wednesday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m., at Holiday Inn Express, Seaford. For information call 410-543-4530.

Club plans Valentine lunch
The DSFWC Acorn Club will have a Valentine covered-dish luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 10 at noon in the Grace Baptist Church on Atlanta Road, Seaford.
Sharon Shulder, Laurel, will make a presentation on quilting.

'Closer Than Ever' is coming
Second Street Players is presenting "Closer Than Ever," a romantic musical revue, Feb. 11, 12, and 13.

Romance writers to sign books
Delaware Chapter of Romance Writers of America will hold a book signing Saturday, Feb. 12, at B. Dalton Bookseller, Salisbury Centre.
Best-selling romance authors Colleen Faulkner, Seaford, and Judith E. French will welcome readers between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Faulkner, winner of the Diamond Award for Author Excellence, will autograph two new books, her historical romance, "Highland Bride," and "Maggie's Baby," her first contemporary romance.
Faulkner's mother, award-winning novelist, Judith E. French of Kent County, will be signing her latest western, "Morgan's Woman," as well as "Rachel's Choice," a Civil War novel played out against a Delaware River background.

Singles to hold dance
The Singles Supper Club will hold a Valentine and Mardi Gras dinner dance Saturday, Feb. 12, 5:30 p.m. at the Seaford Golf and Country Club. Cost is $25 per person. For information call Peggy at 629-6026.

Del Tech to host play
A two-person stage performance dealing with diversity, acceptance and equality will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Arts & Science Center Theater at Delaware Technical & Community College, Georgetown. The show is called "Aspects: Faces of America Too," and incorporates shared ideas, concerns and experiences of young people all over America. The performance is free and open to the public. Dinner will help wildlife
The Delaware Wildlife Exposition's second annual benefit dinner and auction will be Friday, Feb. 18, 6 p.m., at the Felton Fire Hall. Included will be door prizes, raffles, a silent auction and a live auction, with items donated by local artists, craftsmen and businesses.
