The Delmar Library will recognize Black History Month Thursday, Feb. 20, 6:30 p.m. Sangay Miller, an African storyteller, will bring to life her countryís folk tales for children of all ages.

Congratulations to Deena Kenney for being named to the deanís list for the fall 2002 semester at Wesley College. Deena is the daughter of Dale and Jerita Kenney of Delmar.

Congratulations to the This and That Country Store, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary. The store is located on the right on old Route 13, south of Laurel High School. Special sales will be offered for the entire month of February. Call 875-2154 for store hours.

Donald and Peggy Morris and Charles Truitt enjoyed visiting with Ed and Susan Manning in Kinston, N.C., recently. They met Susan on an Internet list around four years ago and have kept in contact ever since. On occasions they have visited with them in Virginia Beach and Ed and Susan traveled to Delmar last fall for a visit.

Scott Shubert enjoyed a Royal Rangers retreat to Virginia this past weekend to learn more about becoming a Royal Ranger commander. Royal Rangers is part of the World Wide Christ Centered Scouting Ministry for Boys. The meetings are held each Wednesday at the Delmarva Evangelistic Church in Salisbury at 7 p.m.
A special happy birthday wish to Brooke Reustle on her sixth birthday. She is the granddaughter of Allen and Connie Reustle.

Delmar New Century Club is sponsoring an AARP drivers safety program at the Delmar Library on March 10 and March 11, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. To register call Francis Truitt at 846-2263 or Jane Sullivan, 846-9932.

I have been told that there is a possibility of a cougar in the woods behind Iron Hill Road and off of Old Stage Road. A few of the neighbors said they have seen it. If you live in that vicinity please beware when you or your family are outside.

We express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Reuben Carey, Evangeline Truitt and Carlton Baker, who passed away last week.
