Focus on Fitness begins

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9 a.m. (a.m. only, Free Quality child-care); and Tuesday, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m. Beginners to advanced participants welcome in this co-ed, non-competitive, muscle-toning, stretching/hi-lo aerobic class. Sunday breakfast
The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 4961 on Middleford Road in Seaford will hold an All-You-Can-Eat breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 8 until 11 a.m. at the post. The ladies will be serving meats, eggs cooked to order, potatoes, pancakes, toast, coffee, and juice. The price is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. Bring your family and help out this worthwhile organization.

President’s Day program
The Seaford District Library will have a President’s Day program for children on Monday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. Come share in activities of this historical holiday. Refreshments will be served. For more information call 629-2524.

Downtown Association
The Downtown Seaford Association will meet on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m at Fantasy Beauty Salon, 224 High St. Anyone interested in downtown Seaford is welcome to attend.

Historical Society
Seaford Historical Society will host a program on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Seaford Museum on High Street (old post office building). Singer Valarie Petty Boyer incorporates stirring and soulful singing into a monologue about life in the days of the Civil War. As a former American History teacher and a professionally trained singer, she introduces listeners to Negro spirituals. This program is funded by the Delaware Humanities Forum. It is open to the public at no charge, but seating is limited. For more information, call Ann Nesbitt 628-7788.
Parenting sessions
Help! Children come without instructions — parenting sessions for you and your child(ren) — Birth to age 3.On Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 6:30-7:45 p.m., subject will be “Discipline;” and on Tuesday, March 4, 6:30-7:45 p.m., subject will be “Growth and Development.” Sessions sponsored by Parents as Teachers at Seaford Parks & Recreation, Virginia Avenue, Seaford. Chicken and Dumplings
The Virgil Wilson VFW Post 4961 on Middleford Road in Seaford invites the community to an All-You-Can-Eat Chicken and Dumpling dinner on Friday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. Take-out dinners will be available at 5:30 p.m. The menu will include chicken, dumplings, mashed potatoes, peas, string beans, and rolls. The cost of the meal is $7 for adults, $5 for ages six to 12, and under six are free. Call the post at 629-3092.

Miss and Little Miss
Seaford Lioness is sponsoring Miss Seaford and Little Miss Seaford on March 7, at Seaford High School Auditorium. “Miss” is open to all freshmen, sophomore and juniors living in the Seaford School District. “Little Miss” is open to all kindergarten, and first graders living in the Seaford School District. NLL Basket Raffle
The Nanticoke Little League is sponsoring a Longaberger Basket Raffle. One $5 ticket buys 28 chances to win a new Longaberger Basket. Baskets include the small and large Sweetheart baskets, Easter basket combos, Tarragon Booking basket and several others. The raffle will be held Feb. 1-28. If the number on your ticket matches the Delaware Lottery Play 3 evening drawing number, you win a basket. Tickets are now on sale. Philadelphia Flower Show
Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation trip to Philadelphia Flower Show, on Saturday, March 8, will leave Seaford at 6 a.m., and leave Philadelphia to come home at 4 p.m. Price includes a ticket to the show and transportation on a motor coach. Cost is $31.50 for adults and $24 for children under 12. Call 629-6809 for tickets and information.

Hand-in-Hand Reading
Reading Hand-in-Hand Night is an opportunity for families of Frederick Douglass to come together as a community of learning. This is a fun-filled evening in which we celebrate reading. Parents will be provided with valuable information and home strategies to help students be successful and promote reading, along with time to read with students and complete a fun activity.
