DVFD fund drive going on
The Delmar Fire Department Ambulance Fund Drive is now in progress. Membership applications have been mailed to residents to receive ambulance cards for year 2000.
Those who have not received information by March 1 may contact the department for membership information at 302-846-2530.
Cost is individual/couple, $25; family, $30; business, $35. The department's motto is, "We're There Because We Care!"

Library to host driving course
The New Century Club of Delmar is sponsoring a "55 Alive AARP driving program" on Feb. 21 and 22, 9 a.m. in the Delmar Public Library on Bi-State Boulevard.
The course is geared for drivers 55 and older and will focus on defensive driving.
For reservations call 846-2263. Price is $10 per person.

Church to host dinner
An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Camelot Hall at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 103 E. State St., Delmar.
Tickets at the door are $7 for adults and carryouts; $3.50 for ages 6 to 12; and free for under 6.
This is a rescheduling of the dinner which was postponed last month because of snow.

Library to host seminar
The Delmar Public Library will host a Capital Works information meeting Tuesday, Feb. 29, 6 p.m. Capital Works is a joint project of the YWCA and First State Community Loan Fund.
The discussion will include how to access capital, training and technical assistance for a small and growing business. For more information, call 628-7646.
DHS time capsule planned
Delmar High School is planning a time capsule. Anyone interested in helping out may contact Faith Melvin at 875-9722, home, or 846-9544, work.

Coming: Day in the Park
The Greater Delmar Chamber of Commerce is planning its annual Day In The Park celebration. This event will be held on Saturday, June 3. This is the chamber's largest fund raiser of the year. The chamber is looking for crafters and artisans to participate. Contact Diane Buckley, at (302) 846-2249 or dinamite@bwave.com for information or to reserve a booth.

Water tower to be dedicated
The town of Delmar will dedicate its new water tower Saturday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m., at the water tower on York Street in Delmar, Del. The new water tower has a capacity of 250,000 gallons. It is approximately 125 feet in height and when full, the water level elevation is 119.5 feet above ground level.
The tank is a single pedestal elevated storage tank. The cost for this project was approximately $700,000, with funding provided by the USDA Rural Development.
Members of the public are invited to attend this ceremony.

Church to serve breakfast
St. Stephen's United Methodist Church Sunday School is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast, Saturday, March 18, from 7-11 a.m.
Cost for adults is $5; for children 4 to 11, $3; and free for children under 3.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bake sale, yard sale and crafts will also be featured. The church is located on State Street, Delmar.
