An indoor yard sale (with new and used items) will be held at the Melson United Methodist Church, Delmar, Md., Saturday, March 6, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. For the ones who won’t have time for breakfast before arriving, you can buy a light breakfast and lunch there. Some delicious homemade baked goods will also be for sale. If you would like to rent a table, call (302) 846-2431.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the families and friends of Marion “Barney” Foxwell, Clifton “Peanut” Sullivan, Virginia “Ginny” Baker and Mary Kathryn Layton.

Allen and the Rementer Family Trio will be singing at the 11 a.m service, Sunday, Feb. 29, at the Charity United Methodist Church in Salisbury,off of Naylor Mill Road.

The Senior High Delmar Math League team of Mark DeMorra, Brooks Dorsey, Josh Griffin, Scott Johnson, Christian McDowell, José Vasquez and Roy Willey ended the season as the Sussex County champions. Mark DeMorra and Scott Johnson also finished in first and second respectively.

The Middle School Math League team placed second in a meet held in Delmar on Feb. 2. Wes Breda was the Delmar top scorer. He is hoping to be named to the “at large” team for the state level competition.

Jared Ward was the winner in the “What am I Doing to Keep Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream Alive?” essay contest sponsored by the African American Club. A prize of $20 was awarded.

The Environmental Club has received a grant of $500 from Conectiv for the pond project. The club reminds everyone that members are still collecting used printer cartridges as a fund-raiser.

The family and friends of Cathi Benton wish her a very happy birthday Sunday, Feb. 22. I won’t say how old she is, but take half of 80 and you might guess it. Have a great one, Cathi.

Delmar VFW Dinner A beef and dumpling dinner, Sunday, March 7, at Delmar VFW, 200 W. State Street, Delmar, Md., from 1-4 p.m. Tickets are $7.50 adults, children under 12, $4 per ticket.
