Church plans trip to theater
Bethel United Methodist Church, Bethel, is planning a bus trip to Sight & Sound Theatre, Lancaster, Pa., to see “Daniel, a Dream, a Den, a Deliverer” on Saturday, April 13. The show will be at 1 p.m. The group will stop for dinner at the historic Strasburg Inn at 4:15 p.m. Price is $84 per person. House to sing at St. Philip’s
Ann Carvel House will present a vocal concert Sunday, March 3, 3 p.m., at St. Philip’s Church, Laurel. Mary Ann Torkelson, organist and choir director at the church, will accompany her at the piano and organ. A reception will be held following the concert. Ministerium serving hot meals
The Greater Laurel Ministerium is serving hot meals every Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Centenary United Methodist Church, West and Poplar streets. The meal is a free outreach ministry of the churches of Laurel, providing not only a hot meal, but a brief devotional as well. For more information call 875-4233 from 9 a.m. to noon.

World Day of Prayer set
The annual World Day of Prayer service will be Friday, March 1, 10 a.m. This ecumenical service was written this year by Christian women of Romania on the theme, “Challenged to Reconcile.” Participants are called to consider world peace and justice and act to bring about solidarity and compassion for Christians throughout the world. Locally, the service will be held at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 4 miles west of Seaford on Delaware 20. The service is sponsored by Church Women United, a grassroots ecumenical movement of Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women. For more information, call Karen Bell, 629-9161.

Dinner to feature dumplings
Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, will hold a chicken and dumpling dinner Saturday, March 9, 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the church office. They are $7, $3.50 for children 6 to 12. Children under 6 will be admitted free. Tickets will also be available at the door, for $8 each. Carry-out dinners will be served.
St. Paul’s plans hymn sing
A hymn sing will be Sunday, Feb. 24, 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s Church, Old Stage Road, Laurel. Refreshments will be served.

Woodland to present concert
The Lights Of Home will present a gospel concert at Woodland United Methodist Church Sunday, March 3, 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the concert. The public is invited. For more information call 875-9124.

The Dove will perform
St. George’s United Methodist Church, St. George Road, between Laurel and Delmar, will host a southern gospel concert by The Dove, Sunday, March 3, 7 p.m. This concert is one of the Sunday -night services for the Laurel-Mt. Pleasant Charge. The church is holding a luncheon Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Foods will include oyster, chicken salad and hot dog sandwiches, pea and dumpling and vegetable soup; and baked goods. Plants will also be for sale.

Roast beef dinner planned
A roast beef dinner, with dessert and beverage included, will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church fellowship hall, Pine and Third streets, Seaford, Saturday, March 9, 4 to 6 p.m., sponsored by St. John’s Church Dorcas Circle. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and free for children under 2. No tickets will be sold at the door. Call Janet Hackett at 628-0329 or Debby Shockley at 628-1131 for tickets.

Bethel Church to host lunch
A luncheon will be Saturday, March 9, at Bethel Church Community House, west of Seaford near Oak Grove, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Call Lucy Slacum, 629-7117, for details.

Ninety & Nine plans meeting
The Ninety & Nine will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Seaford Golf & Country Club Monday, March 11, 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry, formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others. There are no membership dues and all women are welcome. The program will be presented by “The Fearless Followers” from Epworth Fellowship Church, Laurel.
