Church of Nazarene visitors
On Saturday, March 6, at 7 p.m. Pastor Leon Williams and congregation from The Refuge Temple Church, Seaford, will be at the United Church of the Nazarene, 4718 Jackson St., Hurlock, Md. Get ‘Rewired’ at Impact 2004
Thousands of high school students and youth group leaders are expected to attend the Impact 2004 Rewired Conference on March 26-28, at the Ocean City, Md., Convention Center. Impact 2004 will feature music by Tait and Lincoln Brewster, national youth speakers Jeff Dean and Reggie Dabbs, who with humor and compassion, teach that “You can’t change your past but you can change your future”; one-man theatre Curt Cloninger who leaves a lasting impression; adult training by “The Ragamuffin Gospel” author, Brennan Manning, and more. St. George’s gospel concert
St. George’s United Methodist Church will have a gospel concert on Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m. The guests will be Ellery Adams and The Rescue Team from Preston, Md. The concert is free and open to the public.

Ninety and Nine meeting
The Ninety & Nine will meet at the Seaford Golf & Country Club, on Monday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry, which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others. There are no membership dues to pay. Cheryl Torpey from Ocean City, Md., will be their featured guest. She is a licensed, certified, clinical counselor and social worker having extensive experience working many years with both children and adults. More recently, she was the Women’s Ministry Chair for the 2003 Ocean City Encounter. In addition to her myriad talents and abilities, she is a potter. Church of God revival
Clarence Street Church of God will be in revival the weeks of March 7-12 and March 14-17. Sunday’ services (March 7 and 14) will begin at 6:30 p.m. The week night services will begin at 7 p.m. Minister William Lockhart, youth pastor of Holy Trinity Church of God in Reading, Pa., is the evangelist for the week of March 7-12. Bishop Billy J. O’Neal, former Delmarva-D.C. Church of God State Overseer, will be evangelizing Sunday, March 14, through Wednesday, March 17. Bishop Isaac Brunson is a minister at the church.

Men’s & Women’s Banquet
The annual Men’s & Women’s Day Honorary Banquet will be Saturday, March 13, at 4 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church Hall, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. This is sponsored by Macedonia A.M.E. Church (the Rev. Dania Griffin, pastor). The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Honorees include: Beatrice Bessellieu, Elva Dorman, Stacia Girley, Albert Hopkins, Freddie Ricketts, and Calenia Wharton.

Men’s and Women’s Day
Macedonia A.M.E. Church will celebrate its annual Men’s and Women’s Day on Sunday, March 21. The theme for this year is “Men and Women Working for God.” Morning worship will begin at 11 with the Rev. Dania R. Griffin preaching. Afternoon service will begin at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Luther L. Walker III from Emmanuel A.M.E. Church of Hartley as the guest speaker. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

Clarence St. Church of God
The Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford will host the “Stir Up The Gift” Revival Crusade service, March 14-16. Guest speaker for the revival services is Dr. Billy J. O’Neal, international evangelist/teacher. O’Neal served for 39 years in leadership/administration and pastoring churches in his denomination. In 1996, he established “Motivational Ministry Concepts” and began a full-time ministry of evangelizing and conducting “Stir Up The Gift” Gatherings all across the U.S. These gatherings, held Friday night and Saturday, include six one-hour sessions. Each topic is intended to remind and motivate today’s Christian to rekindle the excitement, to do as the Apostle Paul admonishes in II Timothy 1:6, “Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…” O’Neal has ministered in crusades all over the world, including India, Philippines, Africa, British and U.S. Virgin Islands, South and Central America. His wife, Brenda, is involved in local ministry, his daughter Alisa is a pastor’s wife and son, B.J., is involved in ministries. Services times are Sunday, March 14, at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m.

Trinity Revival March 13-14
Spring revival services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, Phillips Hill Road in Laurel, on Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14. Services will begin at 7 p.m. each night and Sunday at 10 a.m. There will be a fellowship supper on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Music and Ministry will be provided by the Wayne Taylor Family, formerly of the Eastern Shore and now of Trinity, N.C. Latin Mass March. 16
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on March 16. Day of Prayer March 5
World Day of Prayer will be sponsored by St. John’s United Methodist Church on March 5, at 10 a.m. Women from the many area churches are presenting the worship service. This year’s theme is “In Faith, Women Shape the Future.” Christian women from Panama invite us to become better informed about their country, history and its needs. Readings and slides will inform us of their struggles and triumphs. World Day of Prayer is an international event that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, and other Christian women and men in 179 countries in prayer. Throughout the day, from the first sunrise to the last sunset, prayers follow the sun’s path around the globe seeking to bring peace and justice for all. Faith Conference 2004
River of Life Christian Center invites the public to “Faith Conference 2004,” 7 o’clock nightly from March 10-12 at 17 West Market St., Greenwood. Speakers: March 10 - Joseph J. Dixon, pastor of River of Life Christian Center; and March 11, 12 - Terrell M. Rummage, pastor of Living Faith Christian Center, Gary, Ind. Pastor Rummage is former director of the Bible Training Center of Living Word Christian Center, Forest Park, Ill., an ordained minister and graduate of Rhema Bible College, Tulsa, Okla. Sister to Sister Luncheon
The Sister To Sister Luncheon will be on Saturday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Foggie A.M.E.Z. Church, Bridgeville. The guest preacher is Pastor Irene Hammond, Voice of Christ Ministries, Laurel. Hymn Sing and Open House
Seaford Church of Christ, 20989 Sussex Highway, invites the community to an Old Fashioned Hymn Sing and Open House on Sunday, March 14, at 2 p.m. A period of fellowship and refreshments is planned following the song service. This event will give the community an opportunity to meet Brother Anthony Melakian, evangelist, who most recently served a congregation in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and is now serving the Seaford area. Woodland spiritual growth
An invitation to Spiritual growth will be held at Woodland United Methodist Church on March 14, 15, 16, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to hear Dave Bailey, executive director of Ranch Hope, Inc. of Alloway, N.J. Bailey will share his concern for youth. He has stated that more and more as we work with troubled young people, we see the necessity of Christian growth in the local church. Look for an ad on Page 17 that will outline the program for each evening.

St. Luke’s Lent readings
The First Sunday in Lent, Feb. 29, the appointed readings at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church focused on turning away from evil. The second Sunday in Lent, March 7, the readings will focus on turning toward Jesus Christ, a short course on Baptism as we offer ourselves to God in Christ which reinforces the reference of self-offering found in each Eucharistic prayer. The Sunday night study “Episcopal is Compelling” led by Viciki Reinsfelder continues. There is still opportunity to attend this fascinating study of the Episcopal Prayer Book. Wednesday night Bible Study led by Rector, Jeanne Kirby, focusing on the following Sunday’s readings, is offered as a Lenten discipline and all are encouraged to attend.

Baptist Music Festival
Grace Baptist Church, Atlanta Road, Seaford, will host the Eastern Baptist Association Music Festival on Saturday, March 6. Participants will include adult and children’s choirs as well as praise and worship teams. Prior to the festival at 2 p.m. will be a fellowship brunch at 10:45 a.m., including a computer music program presentation, handbells demo, and sound and visual systems demo. The brunch will be followed by a vocal skills presentation at noon led by David Miller, who has been involved with 20 concerts as director of the Southern Delaware Choral Society, an 80-member community choral ensemble. Miller is music director of adult, youth, and children’s choirs at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Rings of Fire Handbell Ensemble, Winds of Change Woodwind Ensemble, and composer of music for all these groups. A choral workshop will be conducted at 1 p.m. by Rob Ellis of Newark, where he serves as elder, composer in residence, worship leader, small group leader, assistant choir director, and ensemble director.

Grace Baptist Gospel music
There will be a morning of “Gospel Music” and preaching on March 7 at 10:45 a.m., and a gospel concert at 7 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church on Atlanta road in Seaford. The preaching and music will be presented by Doug Fluharty of Easton, Md. who has been traveling, singing, and testifying of the Love of God for 35 years in churches across the U.S. eastern seaboard and up into Canada. He has played concerts with many of the prominent Southern Gospel and Contemporary groups of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He is now utilizing a variety of keyboards and electronic enhancing devices. Galestown yard & craft sale
Galestown United Methodist Church Community Hall will be the site of a yard and craft sale, on Saturday, March 27, at 7 a.m. until? Scrapple and oyster sandwiches, and homemade vegetable soup will also be available.

Alliance Church Adult Classes
The Atlanta Road Alliance Church, Seaford, is offering three adult Sunday School classes beginning Sunday, March 7. Classes will meet from 9:45-10:45 each week. The classes are: ‘The Masterpiece Marriage’ - the first of seven studies in the Focus on the Family Marriage Series that targets issues impacting couples of every age. This study will explore God’s plan for marriage and how to achieve true happiness and self-fulfillment. ‘Studies in the Pastoral Letters’ - the books of I and II Timothy, Titus and Philemon. Spiritual maturity, leadership, false teachings and walking faithfully with the Lord will be some of the topics discussed. ‘Your Church Experiencing God Together’ - a study, authored by henry and Mel Blackaby, that explores what it means to be born into the family of God, how Christians relate to others in our world, the importance of ministry, and more. The Atlanta Road Alliance Church is located on Atlanta Road, 1-1/2 miles north of the Nylon Capital Shopping Center, next to Seaford Animal Hospital.
