Incumbents are reelected to Seaford’s City Council
By Lynn R. Parks
Voters returned two incumbents to their seats on the Seaford City Council in an election Monday.
Grace Peterson and Larry Miller will be sworn in during the regular council meeting March 11.
Peterson and Miller were challenged for the two open seats by Cindy Bice, 405 Washington St. Voters were asked to vote for two of the three candidates; the top two vote-getters won.
Peters received 262 votes. Miller got 254 and Bice got 82.
“I am very pleased with the vote,” Peterson said. “I thought there would be a bigger participation, but the weather had a lot to do with it.” Monday was clear, but cold and blustery.
Miller too said that he is pleased to be returning to the council.
“With Grace and me winning, it would appear to me that city residents are satisfied with the way the city government is currently run,” he said. “We will continue to work together to provide good government with excellent fiscal responsibility.”
Bice, who was running for council for the first time, said that she respects and admires both Peterson and Miller. “I would like to thank the people who voted for me,” she added.
