Free Tax Assistance
AARP-Tax Aide is offering free tax counseling and preparation through April 11 for senior and low income taxpayers. AARP-Tax Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will assist with personal tax returns at the following sites:

Adult Plus trips
Mark your calendars for these upcoming trips sponsored by the Adult Plus+ program at Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus, Georgetown. Sample and shop fresh and prepared foods from over 100 exhibitors at The Book and the Cook Culinary Market & Showcase in Fort Washington, Pa., on Saturday, March 22. Enjoy legendary mime Marcel Marceau at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore on Monday, March 24. Take a day to sample the delights of the Smithsonian Institute’s seven museums on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 29. Breakfast Buffet Sunday
An All-You-Can-Eat Sunday Breakfast Buffet will be served by the Galestown Ruritan Club on Sunday, March 23, at the Galestown Community Hall. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 children 6-12 years of age. The buffet features pancakes, eggs, scrapple, sausage, creamed chipped beef, biscuits, potato casserole, hominy, fruit cup, and sticky buns.

Conservative Caucus
The Conservative Caucus of Delaware, Sussex County Chapter, will hold a Banquet on Saturday, March 29, at the American Legion Post 19, Route 24, Laurel. There will be a social hour and cash bar at 4 p.m., dinner at 5 p.m. Special music will be by “Delaware Rock for Life.” Guest speaker will be Troy A. Brocco, the new Delaware GOP executive director. GFWC-Delaware luncheon
The Sussex County Membership of the GFWC-Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs will hold their annual Spring Luncheon on Thursday, April 3, at Bay Center, Ruddertowne, Dewey Beach, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by “The Jezebels” of Georgetown. If you are interested in becoming a member of any of the clubs in Sussex County and would like to learn more about the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and The Delaware Federation of Women’s Clubs, please call Jessie Calloway, GFWC-DSFWC Sussex County Membership chairman at 846-2286. Epworth Open House
Epworth Christian School invites prospective families to visit the campus on Thursday evening, March 20. A General Information Session begins at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary, followed by an Open House until 8:30 p.m. In its 24th year of operation, Epworth offers an affordable Christian alternative to public education. There are openings in most grades Pre-school-3-year-old program through Grade 12. Epworth Christian School is located at 14511 Sycamore Road, Laurel. First State Ballet Theatre
Two performances of the beloved classical ballet Coppélia will be presented by the First State Ballet Theatre on Saturday, April 5, at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown. The performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the theatre of the Arts & Science Center. The company made its Sussex County debut at the college in October 2002 with An Evening of Classical and Contemporary Ballet, an exciting mixed-repertory program that included original choreography commissioned by the company. The 45-person cast will be headed by four professional dancers trained in the finest dance schools in Russia. Admission is $20 and $15 for students and seniors. ‘Walk of Success’
The nomination period for the Alumni Walk of Success at Delaware Tech, Owens Campus, Georgetown, is under way. Nominations will be accepted until April 15. Nominees must be graduates of an associate degree or diploma program at Delaware Technical & Community College or the Delaware Tech/University of Delaware Parallel Program at the Owens Campus. Seaford Library exhibit
Seaford District Library is hosting a month-long exhibit of The DelMarValous Quilters. There are over 20 quilts of various themes, sizes and hues adorning the walls of the Conference room and in a display case in the Library lobby. Seaford District Library is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AAUW Scholarship
The Seaford Branch of AAUW will offer one or two scholarships for a total disbursement of $1500. This scholarship is open to Seaford High School senior women who will be enrolling in a four-year collage in the United States working toward a BA or BS degree. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Family spectacular
Bring the kids and have fun on Friday, March 21, from 6-9 p.m., at Christian Community Center, 408 E Gordy Road, Salisbury, Md.There is no admission charge. There will be oyster sandwiches, chicken salad, hot dogs, snacks, sweets, sodas available. A family-oriented evening of variety featuring: Cross Country Singers, Joe Dawsen, The Smith family, Jim and Patti Jennette, Mark and Christine White with “In His Image” Youth, Sisters in Christ, DEC Choir, DEC Kids Choir, Royal Rangers, Joyce and Her Puppets, clown, kids games, Kids Craft Corner, manicure services, prizes every half hour. A free will offering will be taken.

Dover Stamp Club
The Dover Stamp Club will hold its 52nd Show on March 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the W. Reily Brown School in Dover. Includes a children’s table, 12 dealers, exhibits, etc. Free Admission.

Choral Society rehearses
The Southern Delaware Choral Society has resumed its rehearsal schedule. The 75-voice choir is preparing for a performance of the Mozart “Requiem” May 17, 18 at Delaware Tech in Georgetown. New singers welcome. Call 227-2227.
