Bus trip to Easter show set
Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, is sponsoring a bus trip to the Easter Production 2003 at the Evangel Multimedia and Arts Center, Upper Marlboro, Md., Saturday, April 19. The bus will leave the church parking lot at noon. The show will feature artist Beverly Crawford as well as a live nativity scene and a laser show. Cost is $30 before March 20, $35 thereafter. Indoor flea market planned
St. John’s United Methodist Church, Pine Street, Seaford, will hold an indoor flea market Saturday, March 22, 7 a.m. to noon. Vendors are welcome. For details, call 628-1131.

Mid-week Lent services set
The Greater Seaford Ministerium is sponsoring a series of Lenten mid-week worship services and luncheons. These half-hour services will be on Wednesdays at noon and will be followed by a light lunch at 12:30 p.m. On March 26, the service will be held at the Seaford Presbyterian Church, Bridgeville Highway (Rt. 13A), with the Rev. John Harrison, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church as the preacher. On April 2, the service will be held at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, High Street, with the Rev. Andrew Watkins, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, as the preacher. On April 9, the service will be held at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, with the Rev. David Humphrey, pastor of St. John’s United Methodist Church, as the preacher.

Dinner to benefit sick child
Bridgeville Church of God will hold a beef and dumpling dinner Saturday, March 22, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults; $3 for children 12 and younger. The proceeds will benefit the Dixon family, whose 7-year-old child is suffering with leukemia. The church is located at 7046 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville. Call 337-3044 for details.

Church to mark Women’s Day
C.H. Foggie AME Zion Church, Federalsburg Road, Bridgeville, will celebrate Woman’s Day Sunday, March 23. The theme will be “Recycling Our Life for Christ.” At 11 a.m., evangelist Alice Williams Martin, B.M. Oakley Memorial Temple, Philadelphia, will speak. Ninety & Nine to meet
The Ninety & Nine will hold its regular quarterly dinner meeting at the Seaford Golf & County Club Monday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. C. Melvin Marine of Federalsburg, Md. Marine has a master of theology degree from the International Bible Institute and Seminary. He completed a prophetic series through Moody Bible Institute, and is an ordained minister with Lester Sumrall Ministries. Eschatology, which is the study of things to come, is Marine’s area of expertise. He has taught throughout the Untied States and has spoken around the world, including at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. Guest singers will be Abundant Joy (Kim Willey from Greenwood and Reneé Wyatt and Mindy Hatch, both of Laurel). Night features music, poetry

Union UMC plans dinner
Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will hold a spaghetti dinner Wednesday, March 26, 5 to 7 p.m. Price for adults is $6 and for children 10 and under, $3. Proceeds will benefit the church.

Episcopals to hold convention
The Episcopal Diocese of Delaware will hold its 218th convention in Dover on March 28 and 29. Pre-convention meetings for clergy and lay delegates are being held this week. Attending from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Seaford are the Rev. Jeanne W. Kirby, rector, and lay delegates Jane Watson and Vicki Reinsfelder. Alternates are Sarah Quick and Amy Larsen.

Galestown plans yard sale
Galestown United Methodist Church will hold its annual craft and yard sale Saturday, March 29, beginning at 7 a.m. Homemade beef vegetable soup, scrapple sandwiches and oyster sandwiches will be available. Table rental is $5. For details, contact Randy Marine at 410-883-2149.

Group to sing at Centenary
Bruce Willey and the Band of Brothers and Sister will present a concert of gospel music at Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, Sunday, March 30, 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Admission is free.

The Promise Keepers of Centenary Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will hold a spaghetti dinner Saturday, March 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. The United Methodist Women of Centenary Church will hold a chicken and dumpling dinner Saturday, April 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12. Baked goods will be available for sale.

St Stephen’s plans dinner
St. Stephen’s Church, Camelot Hall, Delmar, will host a chicken and crust dinner Saturday, March 29, 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and carry-outs, $3.50 for children age 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under.

Easter eggs for sale
Christ Lutheran Church ladies are selling homemade Easter eggs. They come in peanut butter, coconut cream and butter cream. Cost is $2.75 each. To place an order call 629-9751 or 629-9755, by April 12.

Church of God to honor youth
Youth Day at East Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, is Sunday, March 30. Patience Walker, a member of the church, will speak at the 11 a.m. service. Pastor Donnie Jenkins will speak at the 5 p.m. service. Music will be provided by the church’s Youth and Spiritual Light choirs.
