Congratulations to Deena Kenney for earning a spot on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Wesley College. Deena is a senior in her final semester at Wesley. Her proud parents are Jerita and Dale Kenney of Delmar.

The March meeting of the St. Paul’s Christian Ladies Outreach was held at the Georgia House in Millsboro. The 15 ladies who attended enjoyed a great lunch and fellowship. The group will meet again at 1 p.m. on April 14 at the Delmar Diner in Delmar. If you would like to attend, please call (302) 875-3826.

Congratulations to Bill and Janice Hughes on their 40th wedding anniversary on March 23.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Leonard Widdowson. I worked with him for several years at the DuPont plant in Seaford. He was always making people laugh and was very mischievous. Leonard was a very special friend to all who knew him. He is one of those special guys who will hold a special place in my heart forever.

I would like to wish my mother, Winifred Kenton, of Preston, Md., a very happy 81st birthday on Friday, March 26.

We wish the following people very happy birthdays: Cleo Lambert, March 20; Lois Webster, March 21; Ruth Cowgill, Helen Spear and Minos James, March 22; Judy Bennett, March 23; Brian Cordrey, Chase Prettyman and Valerie Moore, March 24; Debbie Webster, March 25; Mallory Elliott and Brian Melvin, March 26; Joshua Elliott, March 27; Joyce Beatty, and Travis Ralph, March 28.

Thought for the week: “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” Dale Carnegie
