Beekeeping course
The Delaware Beekeepers Association is again hosting their annual short course on Saturday, April 12, to familiarize the public with the basics of beekeeping.The cost for the event is $25 for an adult or a family. Single youths are $10. The fee also includes a one-year membership to the Delaware Beekeepers Association. Those who are interested should contact Robert Mitchell at (800) 282-8685

Writers meeting April 12
The Eastern Shore Writers’ Association will meet on Saturday, April 12 at RJ Riverside Restaurant, Delaware Avenue, Laurel, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker: Barbara Lockhart, author of " Requiem for a Summer Cottage". Miss Lockhart is the recipient of an Individual Artist Award for fiction. All those interested in the craft of fiction, novice or professional, invited to attend. Admission free. ‘Walk of Success’
The nomination period for the Alumni Walk of Success at Delaware Tech, Owens Campus, Georgetown, is under way. Nominations will be accepted until April 15. Nominees must be graduates of an associate degree or diploma program at Delaware Technical & Community College or the Delaware Tech/University of Delaware Parallel Program at the Owens Campus. Fried Chicken Buffet
A Fried Chicken Buffet will be held on Saturday, April 19, at Bethany Church, Lowes Crossroads near Millsboro. Cost for adults and carryouts is $8.50; children, $4. Serving will be from 2-6 p.m. A bake table will also be available.

Ag Day at UD April 26
Whether you enjoy getting your hands dirty in the garden, love getting up close and personal with farm animals, or are intrigued by creepy crawly insects, Ag Day is the place to be! The University of Delaware is ready to welcome everyone to a fun-filled day, held on the grounds of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Newark. Ag Day will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Ag Day and the UD Botanical Gardens Plant Sale will be held at the Fischer Greenhouse from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ag Day and the UD BG Plant Sale are free and open to the public, and there is plenty of free parking.
