Grant Crouse Memorial
The first annual Grant Crouse Memorial Golf Tournament, sponsored by Terry Michaels About Faces Day Spa and Salon, will be held at the Seaford Golf and Country Club on Friday, May 23. Grant was a junior at Seaford High School. He played on the high school varsity soccer team as well as many other soccer teams. Grant also swam on the Seaford High School Swim Team and the Seaford Country Club Swim Team. On Christmas Day 2002, Grant’s life was tragically cut short. So that Grant’s love of soccer can become his legacy his family established a Memorial Fund. The fund will provide money to those children who need help in pursuing the dream of soccer that Grant loved so much. The Grant Crouse Memorial Tournament will be held at the Seaford Golf and Country Club on Friday, May 23. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m., with a shotgun golf-start at noon. Prizes for top golf teams will be awarded. All proceeds from the tournament will go directly to his Memorial Fund. Rain date will be Friday, May 30. Phone 337-8787, fax 337-3890 or e-mail gctournament@hotmail.com for information.

Spring Garden Tour
The United Methodist Women of Mt. Olivet are sponsoring their third spring garden tour on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Eight gardens in the Seaford area will be open, featuring many different styles of gardening. Gardens are found on the banks of the Nanticoke, at condominiums, in shady and sunny areas, even behind a church that is more than 150 years old. The newest garden on the tour is the Prayer Garden located behind the church overlooking the river. Plantings reflect the serenity of the space and create a place for meditation open to the community. Another feature of the tour is revisiting a garden and seeing how it has matured and grown more beautiful. Lunch will be available and can be enjoyed in one of the gardens. The tour will go on rain or shine, gardeners don’t mind getting their feet wet. Tickets are $8, and $10 the day of the tour. They can be purchased at the church office, 315 High St., or by calling 629-2466.
