Sussex Academy Dinner
The Sussex Academy Sports Boosters dinner fund-raiser for the sports program, is Monday, May 17, 5-7 p.m., at the Georgia House Restaurant, Millsboro; cost $16.95, and children 12 and under is $8.95.

Poker Run Benefit in Laurel
Muskrat Memorial Poker Run, Saturday, May 29, with proceeds to benefit a college fund set up for the children of Mike and Beverly Gray. Mike Gray was killed in a motorcycle accident last year and friends and fellow motorcyclists are coordinating the event. Registration is $8 and includes a reception after the event with music, door prizes and barbecue at Castaways Lounge, U.S. 13, in Laurel. Sign up for the event is from 8 a.m. to noon at Castaways Lounge. Non-riders are also invited to attend with $5 per platter fee. Rain date is June 5.

Basket and Pottery Bingo
Longaberger basket and pottery Bingo, Saturday, May 23, Federalsburg VFW on Veterans Drive. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., games start at 1:30 p.m., to benefit Relay for Life Seaford Trinity Transport Team. Cost is $20 at the door. Refreshments will be available. Sunday Breakfast Buffet
Breakfast buffet, Galestown Ruritan Club, May 23, from 7-10 a.m. at the Galestown (Md.) Community Hall. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 children ages 6-12.

Antiques Roadshow May 15
Seaford Historical Society Antiques Roadshow Fair, Saturday, May 15, at Methodist Manor House on Middleford Road in Seaford, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is open to the public at a cost of $5 per person, which entitles each person to bring two items for evaluation. Additional items may be presented for $2 each. Twelve experts from the surrounding area will be present to give estimates. Their expertise includes: furniture, glassware, dolls, jewelry, porcelains, banks, toys, books, coins, sports cards, postcards, decorative arts, stringed musical instruments, and more. Yacht Club Fishing Derby
Nanticoke River Yacht Club along with Wal-Mart will host a youth fishing derby from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 19. Pre-registration is two weeks prior on Saturday, June 5, at the Wal-Mart parking lot. A parent or guardian must accompany all children four to 14. Numerous prizes will be available in all categories. The fishing will be at the Seaford river bulkhead and the casting derby, snacks and awards will be made at the Yacht Club before noon. Teams Needed for Relay
The 2004 West Sussex Relay for Life, will be Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, at Soroptimist Park on Middleford Road in Seaford. Relay held to benefit American Cancer Society. County Ladies Auxiliary

AARP Meeting on June 7
AARP Chapter #5340 meeting Monday, June 7, at Sussex Pines Country Club, Georgetown, with a picnic lunch at noon. The Back Bay Strummers will be the entertainment. Trip to Phillies Game
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel, is sponsoring a trip to the Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves, Friday, July 9, at 7 p.m. The cost is $35 which includes the cost of a chartered bus. Three Little Bakers
The Seaford Department of Park sand Recreation will be hosting a trip to the Three Little Bakers Dinner Theatre in Wilmington on Sunday, May 16, cost $57.95. Since 1972, the Three Little Bakers have provided an entertainment package with superb dining and fantastic Broadway shows and celebrity events. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis — there are only 42 tickets available. 629-6809.

Washington Zoo Trip
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation trip to National Zoo, Washington, D.C., planned for June 12, cost $14 per person.See exotic animals such as panda bears, cheetahs, apes, lions, elephants, as ell as many others. Attend a demonstration such as fish feeding or stork feeding. You may pack a lunch or eat in one of the park’s many cafes. We will depart from the back high school parking lot at 8 a.m. and will leave the zoo at 4 p.m. to return to Seaford. The deadline to sign up is May 28. Nanticoke Senior Center Trip

Biker rally on May 23 to benefit local youth groups
The Horsey Family Youth Foundation and area veterans are sponsoring a biker rally on Sunday, May 23, at the Seaford VFW Post on Middleford Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rain date is Saturday, May 29. Proceeds will benefit youth sports programs. The schedule includes the following: an ABATE swap meet; DJ Mike Mason, 9 a.m. to noon; band Strip Search, 1 to 6 p.m.; ride in bike show, vendors, dunking booth, trophies, door prizes, 93.5 live remote from noon to 1 p.m.; and a ladies auxiliary food concession. The cost is $15 a person which includes one free raffle ticket for the Nov. 6 drawing for one of two custom motorcycles - a 2004 Hellbound Steel Custom Bike, “The Brimstone,” or “The Wicked” (www.winamotorcycle.us).
