LHS grad serving in Iraq
First Sgt. Martin D. Kelley, 34, in the 10th Cavalry, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, is the son of Sandy and Dave LeCates, Laurel. He is serving in Iraq. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1986 and joined the Army in September 1986. He married Michele Conklin from New York in 1990. She is also a sergeant in the U.S. Army. They have two children, Brandon, 17, and Megan, 12. They live off-base in Texas at Harker Heights. Kelley is in charge of 10 Bradley tanks, nine Abrans tanks and 135 men.
Trap Pond State Park
Join the Friends of Trap Pond State Park, Laurel, for a žDay in the ParkÓ to be held on June 14, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be Entertainment, Crafters, Artisians, Antique Tractors, Hayrides, food, fun and activities throughout the day. Call 875-2479 for information.
