FOP Basket Bingo
The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 9, will hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo on Thursday, May 22, starting at 7 p.m. at the VFW, located on Middleford Road in Seaford. The evening will consist of 20 exciting games and will feature several basket combinations including the 2003 Fatherís Day set, Proudly American Button and Cracker baskets, Bagel basket, Hostess Serve It Up!, and other several regular line baskets as prizes. Advance tickets are $20 per person, $25 at the door. Advance ticket includes a chance to win the Hostess Large Hamper, the Proudly American Small Wash Day or one of the eight door prizes. AFRAM Festival
The 6th Eastern Shore African-American (AFRAM) Festival will be held in the newly named Nutter Park on Collins Avenue, Seaford, Aug. 8-9. The festival committee is looking for contestants in grades 3 through 5 for ìLittle Miss and Little Mister AFRAM.î Junior contestants in grades K through 2 can compete for the titles of ìJr. Little Miss and Jr. Little Mister AFRAM.î The pageant is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8. Participants will be judged on talent, attire and an interview. The entrance fee is $20. For information and registration forms, call 628-1908.

Concerts in the Park
Seaford Main Street will once again be hosting their Concerts in the Park series. The series will feature free monthly concerts at Gateway Park located at High and Market streets. The next two concerts are: June 2 - Grandpa Jammers June 16 - Humanaires
Gift-Giving talk
On Tuesday, June 3, from 5-6 p.m., the Seaford District Library will have author Nancy Twigg who will do a program on ìMillion Dollar Gift Giving.î Twigg will be sharing ideas from her latest book, ìCelebrate Simply: Your Guide to Simpler, More Meaningful Holidays and Special Occasions.î Join the Seaford District Library for this great time to learn how to give gifts from your heart, not your pocketbook. READ-ALOUD session
READ-ALOUD Delaware volunteer training session will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 1 p.m. in the Seaford Public Library, 402 North Porter St. Call 856-2527 to sign up for training or for further information. Volunteer readers are needed at various reading sites in Sussex County.

Library Friends Yard Sale
Friends of the Library will hold their annual yard sale on Saturday, May 24, 8 a.m.-noon, at the Seaford District Library, rain or shine. Early birds use back entrance. If you have items to donate, they may be dropped off anytime, May 22 or 23. No clothing accepted. Proceeds will e used to help fund childrenís programs and the general maintenance of the library.

Fashion Show & Tea
The 2003 AFRAM (African American) Festival committee is holding a Fashion Show and Tea on Saturday, June 7, 2-4:30 p.m., at St. Lukeís Parish Hall, North Street, Seaford. Tickets are $10 per person. Tickets will be available to win a ìCultural Quilt.î Each ticket is just $2 and three tickets are only $5. The fundraising activities will help defray costs associated with the AFRAM Festival scheduled for Aug. 8-9, at Nutter Park on Collins Avenue, Seaford. For more information, call 629-1908.
