Singing in Gateway Park
Seaford Main Street Assoc. presents local musician Danny Shivers tonight, May 23, 7-9 p.m., under the stars in Gateway Park. Shivers will perform Rock from the ‘70s through today. The concert is free. Other performances are as follows:
  • June 13 - Work Release
  • June 27 - Sam Hearn country music
  • July 11 - Just Forgiven
  • July 25 - Grandpa Jammers

New gift shops opening
Seaford Historical Society members Diane Rosetta and Phyllis Wilson are making arrangements for two gift shops, one at the Ross Mansion and one at the Seaford Museum on High Street. Right now they are looking for pieces of furniture on which they can display gift items in a creative fashion. They are looking for book cases, shelves, old cupboards, old sideboards, any of that kind of thing that will make a unique presentation in these first-class operations. Please call Diane Rosetta at 629-3339 or Phyllis Wilson at 629-2119 if you have anything to help them. Pick-up and transportation will be arranged. Your help will be sincerely appreciated.

SSHS commencement
Seaford High School will hold its commencement at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, at Bob Dowd Stadium on North Market Street. The Class of 2002 has chosen Sen. Joseph Biden and Mrs. Stephanie Smith as commencement speakers. Tickets will be required for the commencement. In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be in Madden Auditorium at the High School.
Clean up week schedule
Seaford “Clean-Up Week” is May 28-31. The clean-up day is for Seaford residents only, and is not to be used by landlords to bring refuse from rental properties. Items must be placed at curbside because employees will not come onto a resident’s property. All items must be on the curb the night before the scheduled day of pick up. No containers should weigh over 50 pounds. The schedule is as follows:
  • Tuesday, May 28, at East Seaford (from Pond Street to Front Street);
  • Wednesday, May 29, from front Street to the railroad tracks (including Virginia Commons);
  • Thursday, May 30, railroad tracks to Nylon Boulevard and Martin Farms;
  • Friday, May 31, Westview, Parsons Village and Westside Manor.
