Prayer training planned
River of Life Christian Center will hold a 13-week training course on how to intercede for others with prayer on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., at 17 West Market St., Greenwood. Classes will begin today, May 30. Cost is $15. For more information call 349-9420.

Trinity UMC plans trip
Trinity United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, is sponsoring a trip to see “Daniel” at the Sight and Sound theater in Lancaster, Pa., on Friday, Aug. 9. Tickets are $53 for adults. Call 628-9902 for details.

Church to serve pancakes
The United Methodist Women of Mt. Pleasant Church are sponsoring a pancake breakfast Saturday, June 1, from 7 to 9 a.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 12. The church is approximately 4 miles west of Laurel at 33038 Mt. Pleasant Road, Laurel.

Church to hold spring fest
Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 North and Dorothy Road, Delmar, will hold its spring festival Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m., featuring a yard sale and food. There will be oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, cheese steak subs, chicken salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade ice cream, baked goods and scrapple sandwiches.

Oyster fry set for June 1
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 South Central Avenue in Laurel, will hold its annual oyster fry Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. Food available will include oyster sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, baked goods and homemade ice cream. Ninety & Nine to meet
The Ninety & Nine will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the the Seaford Golf & Country Club Monday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about others. Guest speaker will be Anna Mae Detwiler, who lives in the Shenandoah area of Virginia. She has traveled to Russia several times with the International School Project, a ministry through Campus Crusade For Christ. Lori Jones of Laurel will sing. All women are welcome. Jericho to meet June 11
Sarah Stephens, Milford, will be the guest speaker at the regular meeting of Jericho Tuesday, June 11, 7 p.m., at Dairy Bar restaurant, 511 E. King St., Seaford. Amy and Darin Windsor will lead the service. For more information call 629-5654.

Blades UMC plans revival
Blades United Methodist Church, 306 South Market St., Blades, will hold a revival service Sunday, June 2, 6 p.m. featuring gospel singing, testimonies, music and evangelistic preaching.

Chapel to take trip to theater
A bus trip to the Sight and Sound Living Waters Theater in Lancaster, Pa., for the show, “Abraham and Sarah,” will be Saturday, June 29, sponsored by Chaplain’s Chapel, Bridgeville. Group celebrates 40th year
The Epworth Quartet, a Laurel-based southern gospel group, is celebrating four decades of ministry with two events in June. It will host a dinner concert at the Greenwood Mennonite School on Friday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. Performing will be the Lights of Home of Laurel and the Calhoun Family of Milford. Tickets are $12 or two for $20 and are available at Dukes Lumber in Laurel and Seaford or by calling 875-2043. Tickets will be available through June 6, or until they are sold out. On Saturday, June 15, the quartet will sponsor the Dixie Melody Boys of Kinston, N.C., in concert at Seaford High School. The 7 p.m. concert is free and open to the public.

Centenary plans Bible school
Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold vacation Bible school June 17 through 21. Children from age 4 through the sixth grade are welcome to attend. This year’s program, SonCanyon River Adventure, will feature a river expedition theme. The children will study skills for life found in the Book of Proverbs. Daily activities will include music, crafts, Bible stories and games. The morning session will be held from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Enrollment will be limited to 140 children. An evening session will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Registration forms are available at the church or by calling Karen Tull (628-0444).
