Greenwood Spring Festival
The Greenwood Mennonite School (GMS) is celebrating its 76th anniversary this year, and the return of the Greenwood Spring Festival, Saturday, June 5, beginning with breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m., a 5K run/walk, auction, sports tournaments, food booths, petting zoo, children’s games, entertainment and more. The school is located just off routes 16 and 36, east of Greenwood. The festival and parking are free.

Delmar Day in the Park
Greater Delmar Chamber of Commerce 28th Annual Day in the Park Festival on Saturday, June 5, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the State Street Park in Delmar. There will be many craft vendors, along with several other vendors from businesses, churches, etc. Several food vendors will be present offering such food items as oyster fritters, hamburgers, hotdogs, pit beef, turkey, ham, funnel cakes, french fries, and ice cream. Events such as face painting, raffles, 50/50, kiddie express ride, moon bounce, give-a-ways, game booths, fire engine rides, live music and more.
Teams Needed for Relay
The 2004 West Sussex Relay for Life, will be Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, at Soroptimist Park on Middleford Road in Seaford. Relay held to benefit American Cancer Society. Photo contest has farming, barns, flowers as themes
Fifer Orchards, Inc. is celebrating 85 years of business. To help preserve their 85th anniversary, the Fifers are sponsoring a “Country Charm” photo contest on the last Saturday of each month, May through October. Each month’s category will be as follows: June: country buildings (barns, etc.), July: floral, August: fruit, September: vegetable, and October: Fifer Orchards’ shots only. Taste of Coastal Delaware tickets are now on sale
Tickets for the upcoming fifth annual Taste of Coastal Delaware are now on sale. The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 6, from 1-4 p.m. “Taste of Coastal Delaware” will be in a tented area at the MarketPlace at Sea Colony in Bethany Beach. Guests can taste their way through food from 23 of the area’s chefs and restaurants and sample wine and beer, all while enjoying live jazz with The Pam Miller Group.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and are available at the chamber office on Route 1, the South Coastal Library, DiFebo’s Restaurant and Deli, and The Parkway Restaurant. AARP Meeting on June 7

Yacht Club Fishing Derby
Nanticoke River Yacht Club along with Wal-Mart will host a youth fishing derby from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 19. Pre-registration is two weeks prior on Saturday, June 5, at the Wal-Mart parking lot. A parent or guardian must accompany all children four to 14. Numerous prizes will be available in all categories. The fishing will be at the Seaford river bulkhead and the casting derby, snacks and awards will be made at the Yacht Club before noon.
