Benefit for Sugar Free Youth
Second annual Pampered Chef fund raiser to benefit Sugar Free Youth, Thursday, June 17, 7 p.m., Christian Church of Seaford, U.S. 13 north. Proceeds from the show benefit a support group for youth with diabetes. Call Melody Kimbler, 629-0560.

Trip to Cape Cod

Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club Events
The following are the remaining themes for Ronnie Mac’s Family Nights at the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club. The club is open each Friday night for families only. There is no admission fee.

June 11 - Summer Celebration with family barbecue.
Other events and activities at the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club include the following: Summer Fun Club (youth ages 12) begins on June 10 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are weekly themes, activities, swimming, and trips. Purchase of care is accepted. The Summer Sizzlin’ Shooters Basketball League (ages 9-18) will take place at the club in July and August ($10 fee for members). There will be a mandatory parents’ meeting on July 1 at 6 p.m.

Contestants sought for Little, Jr. Miss Riverfest
Contestants can now register for the 2004 Little and Jr. Miss Riverfest Pageant on Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m. on the entertainment stage during the Nanticoke Riverfest in downtown Seaford. Little Miss contestants should be between the ages of three and six and Jr. Miss contestants should be between the ages of seven and 10. All participants will receive a gift bag. The cost to register is $5. Call 629-9173 for more information or to register.
Daniel B. Short will make it official on the steps of the new Seaford City Hall on Thursday, June 17, at 6 p.m.
The Seaford mayor will make an announcement pertaining to his running for the 21st District State Senate seat on the Republican ticket.


Here is what’s happening at the Seaford District Library, June 10-17:
  • Story time every Wednesday at 10 a.m. for preschoolers. Enjoy stories,
  • songs, finger plays and crafts.
  • “Discover New Trails,” Seaford District Library Summer Reading Program starts June 10. Come in and register for prizes.
  • Manor House Book Club meets at 1001 Middleford Road at 10:30 a.m. on June 17. Discussion is on the book, “Tears of the Giraffe,” by Alexander McCall Smith. Everyone is invited.

  • Book signing with Don Brown who is the author of, “Heroes and Others,” Tuesday, June 22, at 6 p.m.
