DU Summer Party
The Nanticoke Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its 5th Annual “Summer Party” at the Ross Mansion in Seaford on Saturday, June 14. Funds raised go toward habitat preservation for local waterfowl. The gate opens at 4 p.m. and will feature tropical refreshments, generous buffet, silent and live auctions, live musical entertainment provided by “Bitter Creek” and “The Funsters” with special guests. Event is rain or shine. Tickets are $75 per couple available at Clark’s Pools, Autumn Bay frames, or Lord Bros. & Higgins in Seaford. Call 628-3943 for more information.

Kiwanis Golf Tournament
The Seaford Kiwanis Club is proud to announce its plans for the 17th Annual Foundation Golf Tournament. The proceeds from this anniversary event will go to the Club’s Foundation endowment which provides scholarships to needy and well deserved senior students each year. This year, the tourney is scheduled for June 13 at the Seaford Golf & Country Club. Any business wishing to sponsor a special event or donate a door prize is encouraged to get involved. Anyone wishing to play should call immediately. The entry fee will include buffet lunch, golf fee, cart, hospitality cart, and awards party. Every participant will receive a bag of goodies and one of the numerous door prizes. Awards up to $250 of merchandise, certificates for closest to the pin and straightest drive, plus a new car and other fabulous prizes for a “Hole-In-One” will be available to all golfers. Brighton Beach Memoirs
Three performances remain of Possum Point Players’ production of Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” The play opened on June 6, with nearly full houses for each performance on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Tickets are still available for all three remaining performances, June 13 and 14 at 8 p.m., and June 15 at 2 p.m. Mary Cahill, Executive Administrator, recommends calling the Possum Point Players Ticketline at (302) 856-4560 to reserve tickets in advance. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $14 for Seniors and students.

Adoption Fair
D.C. Brown of Homeless Cat Helpers will stage an Adoption Fair, Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Barton’s/Southern States, Seaford. For more information call 629-2045.
Humanaires at Gateway
Do you like country/western, pop, gospel or rock ‘n’ roll? Well Gateway Park, Seaford, is the place to be on Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m., to hear the Humanaires, singing their type of songs. The Humanaires are a group of entertainers from Laurel, who are all members of the Laurel Lions Club. Since originating in 1992, the group has performed all over the Delmarva Peninsula for various organizations and private parties such as class reunions, variety shows, dining hours, receptions, benefits and festivals.

Widowed Persons
The Seaford Chapter of the AARP-Widowed Persons Service will have its next meeting on Tuesday, June 17, at 12:30 p.m. at the Golden Corral. All widowed persons of all ages are invited to attend. Come joins us — we all enjoy the trips, lunches/dinners, etc. that we do.

Airport meeting
The next regular meeting of the Sussex County Airport Committee will be Wednesday, June 25, at the Sussex County Administrative Offices building (West Complex Rt. 113), Georgetown, at 6 p.m.

AFRAM Festival
The 6th Eastern Shore African-American (AFRAM) Festival will be held in the newly named Nutter Park on Collins Avenue, Seaford, Aug. 8-9. The purpose of the extraordinary event is to strengthen our community through cultural awareness by exhibiting a heritage of unity, success, diversity and pride. The AFRAM Festival will provide two glorious days of cultural vendors, Little Miss and Little Mister AFRAM pageants, ethnic foods, drummers, dancers, comedians, games, car show, parade and much, much more!
