Acorn Club directory
The Seaford Acorn Club is preparing its local telephone directory. Anyone wishing to advertise in this directory who has not already been contacted, may call 629-7396 and a club representative will visit you. Also, anyone interested in making any changes in the directory should contact Barbara Norton at 629-7396.

SDP&R Summer Playground
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation Summer Playground, for grades 1 through 6, will have field trips, bowling, swimming, trips to the new Jay’s Nest Playground and more. Cost is $45 per child per week and $40 per child per week if there is more than one child from the same family. For more information call the Recreation office at 629-6809.

Cross Country Band June 27
Cross Country Band will be playing in Gateway Park on Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m. This band was established in January 2002 by Joe LeCates and plays Country and Southern Gospel to spread the word of God. There are six members in the band and we are looking forward to hearing some good country gospel music. Come and join us. Concerts in the Park are sponsored by Seaford Main Street and are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month in Gateway Park in downtown Seaford.

Seaford American Legion BBQ
Seaford American Legion Post #6, N. Front Street, Seaford, will hold a Chicken Barbeque on June 29, from 11:30 a.m.-? Food will include: a half chicken, 2 vegetables, and a roll. Cost will be $6.
Elks Bingo every Wednesday
The Seaford Elks Lodge has Bingo every Wednesday evening beginning promptly at 7:30. Food available from our kitchen.

Family nights each Friday
Family Nights each Friday at the Boys & Girls Club. Family Nights take place each Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club. All are welcome (members and non-members) as long as children are accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is no admission fee and all areas of the club are open. Refreshments and prizes are also part of Family Night

Scholarship and Golf a good mix Sept. 28
The Woodland Ferry Association has approved an award of a $750 scholarship to be given to a deserving Seaford Senior High School senior. Chester H. Porches, president of the Association, states that this is an increase of $250 from past years. The Seaford High School Scholarship Committee will select the winner. This annual scholarship is made possible by the donations made by individuals and merchants, players who participate and association members who plan and carry out this popular activity. This year the Woodland Ferry Association’s Invitational Golf Outing will be held at the Woodland Golf Park on Saturday, Sept. 28. Jack Conner will coordinate this event. Call Jack at 629-4324 to play. Invitations will be mailed out to most of the players who have participated in the past.

DP&R Day Trip to N.Y.C.
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation is planning a Day Trip to New York City, on Black Friday, Nov. 29. This trip is for all you brave and dedicated shoppers and sightseer’s. This day is for you to do anything you want, in the Big Apple. Take in the sights, shop and eat. Bus will depart Seaford at 7 a.m. and depart New York at 7 p.m. You will have eight hours of time to enjoy yourself. Seats are limited to the first 46 people that register. You won’t want to miss this one. Cost is $25 per person, to ride on the comfortable motor coach. For more information call 629-6809.
