Charity Auction
Take My Hand Ministry sixth annual charity auction, Saturday, Aug. 7. Preview from 9-10 a.m., and bidders on the go may negotiate a price with auctioneer Tommy Tucker of Greenwood, at Greenwood Memorial VFW Post #7478 on Governors Avenue. Proceeds benefit TMHM’s needy client fund. All donations are tax-deductible since TMHM is a non-profit 501 (C)(3) organization. To make a donation contact Dr. Michaele S. Russell at 349-4220. Bridgeville Public Library seeks board member
The Bridgeville Public Library board of trustees is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the board for a five-year term. The board will review applications received and forward a recommendation to the resident judge of the Superior Court of Sussex County for appointment. Board members must be a resident of the Woodbridge School District, preferably within the Bridgeville post office service area. Library board members oversee the library as representatives of the community. They determine policies governing the operations and programs of the library. They develop and oversee the operating budget. They actively support library related legislation. The board has public meetings in the library at least four times per year, and usually meets monthly.   Greenwood money management workshop
On Thursday, July 22, at 6 p.m., Deborah Townsend will be at the Greenwood Public Library. Townsend, a financial professional, is a volunteer presenter for the Delaware Money School. The Delaware Money School, sponsored by the state treasurer’s office, is a “community-based effort to provide financial education in a hassle-free environment.” This program, “Money Management: How do you know when you are ready to invest” workshop, is open to the public at no charge. This program will provide detailed information on investment products, including CDs, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, and insurance, 401Ks, and 403Bs. She will explain the mechanics of the products and their risks and how they fit in your financial plan. All participants will receive handouts. Walk-ins are welcome.
