Promise Keepers dinner
Promise Keepers of Centenary Church, corner of Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti/salad dinner, Saturday, July 24, 4-7 p.m., to benefit the scholarship fund. $5 for adults; $3 for ages 6-12; under 6 free.
Annual Trap Pond Festival
Trap Pond Partners sponsor the forth annual Trap Pond Festival at Trap Pond State Park in Laurel, on Saturday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music all day will be featured by Lacey & Friends at 10 AM, Peninsula Blue Grass Pickers at noon, and music and dance by Raices Boricuas (Folkloric Puerto Rican music and dance) at 3 p.m., & Shelley Abbott and Da Girls at 7 p.m. in the campground. There will be food by The Pit, crafts, hayrides, scavenger hunt, horse back rides, wet slip & slide (Bring your bathing suit), Chinese auction, fishing demo’s and many other enjoyable activities. It will be a day of fun for the whole family.
Annual Ride for… KIDSAKE
Laurel Police Department in conjunction with Harley Davidson of Seaford is in the process of organizing the 2nd Annual Ride For… KIDSAKE. The Ride is a benefit motorcycle ride which raises money for The Children’s Advocacy Center of Delaware. The Children’s Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that deals with children who have been the victims of sexual and physical abuse. They provide a child friendly setting to coordinate services to expedite the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases, while ensuring the victims receive effective, immediate and sensitive support.
Event Details: Saturday, Aug. 28, benefit Motorcycle Ride/Dice Run, Benefits The Children’s Advocacy Center. All motorcycles welcome. Registration at Harley Davidson of Seaford, 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Registration is $10 per person. Ride will start at Harley Shop, go 70-80 miles, then return to the Harley Shop for food and entertainment.
