Seaford Elks Luau
The Seaford Elk Lodge, Elk Road, Seaford, annual Luau, Saturday, Aug. 14. Seaford’s own Tony Windsor will be the featured floor show attraction with his tribute to “Elvis, the Legend.” The show will be 50 minutes long after which the lodge’s own fabulous male Hula dancers will compete to win the Hula Contest. DJ great Paul Foskey will spin Big Band sounds and Old Rock N’ Roll from 9 p.m until midnight. Bar opens at 5:30, hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., dinner at 7. Menu: country style barbecue spare ribs, fried chicken, ham, parslied buttered potatoes, string beans almandine, tossed salad, coffee, rolls, and assorted desserts. Cost is $15 each or $30 a couple. Spaghetti Dinner benefit
All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner to benefit the St. John’s Community Thrift Shop Storage Building Fund, will be Friday, July 23, at St. John’s Fellowship Hall, adults $6; children (12 & under) $3; children under 3, free. Tickets available in the church office, at the Thrift Shop.

Benefit for Steve Trivits
Friends of Steve Trivits will have a benefit pig roast for him on Saturday, July 24, at the Ross Mansion starting at 6 p.m. The cost is $40 a person; $75 a couple with music by Steve Moody (byob). Crab Cake Dinner
The Ladies’ Auxiliary of VFW Post 4961 will be having their Crab Cake Dinner on Sunday, July 25, from 1 p.m. until… The crab cake platter will include homemade potato salad, coleslaw, limas and corn, rolls, coffee and tea. The cost is $7.50 or $10 for two crab cakes. A crab cake sandwich is $5.50. The Post is located in Seaford on Middleford Road, east of Rt. 13. Call 629-3092 for more information.

Seaford District Library
Here is what’s happening at the Seaford District Library for the week of July 22- July 29:
  • Rehoboth Children’s Theatre presents “Robin Hood” on Thursday, July 22, at 11 a.m.
  • Summer Reading Program Grand Finale, Thursday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m. with storyteller, Gary Lloyd. Grand prize drawing for a new bicycle and other prizes will be held immediately following the storyteller.
  • Story time every Wednesday at 10 a.m. for preschoolers. Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and crafts. Upcoming events
  • The Seaford Library is preparing for the 4th Annual International Festival held in October. We are currently looking for people of different nationalities, as well as anyone who has traveled abroad and has artifacts, that would like to volunteer to conduct a presentation.
