Missions Trip to Buffalo
A missions trip is being planned by Keith Baker of the Bridgeville Church of God to go to Buffalo, N.Y., from Aug. 23 to Aug. 27. If you’re interested, call the church at 337-3044.

Union UMC holds VBS
Vacation Bible School will be Aug. 8-12 for preschool through sixth grade from 6:30-8 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church, 2 North Laws St., Bridgeville. Registration begins Sunday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. Call 337-7409 for more information.

Charity Auction
Take My Hand Ministry sixth annual charity auction, Saturday, Aug. 7. Preview from 9-10 a.m. Bidders on the go may negotiate a price with auctioneer Tommy Tucker at Greenwood Memorial VFW Post #7478 on Governors Avenue. Proceeds benefit TMHM’s needy client fund. Yard Sale and Barbecue
Yard Sale and Barbecue at Bethel United Methodist Church,Harpers Road, Federalsburg, Md., sponsored by Bridgeville Charge finance committee, Saturday, July 31. Cannon U.M.C. V.B.S.
Cannon United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School from Monday, Aug. 2, to Friday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. until noon. It will be for all children ages three to 10. To register call 628-7468. The theme is “Lava Lava Island: Where Jesus’ Love Flows.” Everyone is welcome.
School Reunion Service
Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church in Laurel, located on Townsend Street, will be hosting School Reunion Service, Aug. 8, at 4 p.m. This service is for anyone who attended Paul Laurence Dunbar School which is located on West Sixth Street in Laurel, however, everyone is cordially invited to attend. Crossroad Church V.B.S.
Crossroad Community Church, in Bridgeville, is having its annual Vacation Bible School, Aug. 8-11. The theme this year is “Smile, Jesus Loves You.” There will be music, crafts, stories, dramas, outdoor activities and snacks. BSSP at Christ Lutheran
The Bible School for Special People (BSSP) program at Christ Lutheran Church will be hosting a Vacation Bible School program, Aug. 9-13. This program is designed for adults with developmental disabilities. The Vacation Bible School program will begin at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 8 p.m. each night. A free dinner is available to students. This year’s theme is “Construction, INC — In the Name of Christ.” There will be a closing program at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and all are welcome to attend. Gospel music convention
The world’s largest country gospel organization has chosen Seaford for its annual Eastern America Convention. CGMA is a ministry-oriented organization, networking country gospel musicians and singers from around the world. Conventions are held throughout the year on a division level, then internationally the third week of October in Branson, Mo. On Aug. 23-28, at 7 p.m., artists will be rendering one song each and briefly sharing about their ministry. Friday evening will feature nominees in 37 categories. Tuesday through Friday morning, at 10 a.m., will be worship time. Wednesday and Thursday afternoons will be a time of teaching relating to music and ministry. Saturday night is the annual awards show, featuring the 2003 eastern awards recipients and visitors from around America. This is the “grand finale” of the convention. This six-day event will highlight some of the very best talent in America. There will be no charge for any of the programs, but a goodwill offering will be received each evening to cover the cost of the convention. The event will be held at the Raymond E.
