Bible school at Mt. Zion set

School at Lutheran church set

Nazarene ‘SCUBA’ school set
The Laurel Church of the Nazarene will hold its vacation Bible school, “SCUBA, a Super Cool Undersea Bible Adventure,” Aug. 4 through Aug. 8, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will study Elijah and Jonah and learn stories about Jesus and his followers. They will also take part in a hands-on mission project that will reach needy children around the world. Each day will conclude with a Sea Star Finale at 8:10 p.m. Family members and friends are invited to join in the finale. For details, call 875-7873.

Recovery program is for teens
The recovery program at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Seaford, will begin a support program for hurting teenagers Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. “Life Hurts, God Heals” is an eight-step program that journeys through hurts, habits and hang-ups to bring healing. Gospel group to perform
March Forth, a southern gospel quartet from south-central Pennsylvania, will perform at Grace Baptist Church, 805 Atlanta Road, Seaford, at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. March Forth was formed on March 4, 1999. Its first concert was March 4, 2000. Members are Doug Couch, Rick Hudson, Daniel Harmon and Floyd Foster. Fighting drugs with revival, march
Everlasting Hope Ministries will hold its tenth annual tent services Monday, Aug. 11, through Sunday, Aug. 17, on the grounds of the Booker Street Church of God, Georgetown. Services will begin at 7 nightly except on Sunday, when they will begin at 5 p.m. The purpose of these meetings is to encourage individuals whose lives have been adversely affected by drugs and/or alcohol. On Aug. 16, the church will hold its ninth annual Community Anti-Drug Rally and March. The march will begin at 11 a.m. at the church on Booker Street and will wind through the streets of Georgetown. Participants will return to the church grounds, where fun day activities will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Free T-shirts will be handed out by Everlasting Hope Ministries. Charity auction Aug. 2
The fifth annual charity auction sponsored by Take My Hand Ministry Inc., Greenwood, will be Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Greenwood Fire Department, US 13. Bids on items will be accepted from 9 to 10 a.m. At 10 a.m., auctioneer Tommy Tucker, Greenwood, will sell all the remaining items. This year’s auction includes new and used items, collectibles, antiques and home crafts. Refreshments and baked goods will be sold. Donated items (excluding clothing and appliances), baked goods and cash contributions are tax deductible. All proceeds will help poverty level clients of TMHM obtain necessary items (food, fuel, medicine, etc.) that their limited incomes cannot cover. Child-care classes available
Sharpen Your Parenting Skills - Child Inc is offering a free six-week parent education class, “Children Come Without Instruction,” at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church Hall, Church Street, Bridgeville, each Monday through Sept. 8, (except Labor Day).
