Ministry to hold auction
The fourth annual charity auction sponsored by Take My Hand Ministry Inc. of Greenwood will be Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company on U.S. 13, Greenwood. Bidders may preview items and negotiate a price from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. At 10 a.m., auctioneer Tommy Tucker of Greenwood will sell all remaining items. All sales are final and items must be removed from the fire hall at the time of sale. An Americana Collection will be auctioned off at 11:30 a.m. There will be no negotiated bidding beforehand on these items. Refreshments, including baked goods, will be available. Donated items (excluding clothing and appliances), baked goods, and cash contributions are tax deductible. All proceeds will help poverty-level clients of Take My Hand Ministries obtain items such as food, fuel and medicine that their limited incomes cannot cover. Hall of fame plans banquet
The Second Generation Gospel Music Hall of Fame will hold its third induction ceremony Saturday, Aug. 3, 5:30 p.m. at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club, Seaford. Honorees will be Helen J. Beckett, Easton, Md.; Freddie Brummell Sr., Denton, Md.; Joyce Phipps, Seaford; and the Veney Sisters, Tyaskin, Md. The Faithful Ones, Seaford, will do a performance of interpretive dance and the Nichols Sisters, Mardela Springs, Md., will perform. The Rev. Joseph Austin, Germantown, Md., will be the master of ceremonies. Greene’s Catering Service will provide the meal. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children. Hit a home run for Jesus
Grace Baptist Church, located on Atlanta Road in Seaford, will have a family day camp, “Baseball at GBC Yards,” on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. The church will be transformed into a ballpark dedicated to hitting home runs for Jesus. During the day, families will move through a series of “training camps” as “coaches and trainers” from the church introduce them to several Bible stories and truths. The afternoon will end with an “all-star” baseball game and, of course, hot dogs and peanuts. Church to host evangelist

Portsville to host concert
There will be an outdoor gospel concert under the big top featuring Bruce Willey and the Band of Brothers on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Portsville United Methodist Church, Dogwood Lane, just west of Bethel. Sounds of Grace to perform

The Cash Family, a southern gospel group based in Felton, will perform at Blades United Methodist Church, 4th and Market streets, Sunday, Aug. 11, 11 a.m.
