The Zydecas
tBring a lawn chair and come and listen to the Zydecats at Market Square Park in historic Laurel, Sunday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., rain date Aug. 17. The Zydecats is a great band specializing in musical styles from Louisiana, featuring accordion, saxophone, washboard, and fiddle. Their music includes Zydeco, Cajun, Nola Funk and Country. The Town of Laurel would like you to come out with your families and join your neighbors and friends for this free concert.

Laurel Library
The Laurel Public Library will hold its Summer Reading Program Celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The afternoon celebration will include a special performance of Red Riding Hood, presented by the Laurel Public Library Acting Club. Refreshments will be served at both events. All children who read at least 10 books will receive a book and a prize bag, which will include a special present from the Friends of the Laurel Public Library.
