Members of St. Paul’s Church and families witnessed a baptism of Miss Morgan Marica Paradis, daughter of Cindy and Scott Paradis, and Master Ashton James (AJ) Steelman, son of Carrie Littleton and James Quentin Steelman, Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002.

We wish Calvin Keller a speedy recovery after his surgery for a heart bypass on Aug. 5 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Congratulations to Don and Carol Murray on their 39th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3.

Special birthday wishes to James Gschwandtner, who celebrated his birthday on Sunday, Aug. 4. He is the son of Mike and Wendy Lowe.

Flaudine Otwell’s family are celebrating a lot of birthdays in August. Her daughter, Debbie White Wilson, had a birthday on Aug. 3. Her son, Brian, celebrated on Aug. 2 and another son, Ricky, celebrated on Aug. 6. Ricky’s son, Chad, had a birthday on Aug. 7, and three granddaughters, Ruth Marie James, Kelly Jo Otwell and Ellery Elder, celebrated on Aug. 8, Aug. 9 and Aug. 22 respectively. We wish all of you a very happy birthday.

Several people from Delmar have just returned from a cruise to Alaska on the Carnival Spirit: Meds and Herb Murphy, Jo and Steve Ditmer, Pat and Bunky Naugle, Suzanne and John Roberts, May and Phil Comba, Joyce and David Burton , Doris Scruggs and Nola Hearn. They brought back a lot of great pictures of their trip and one of pictures was of them wearing jackets in 40-degree weather while we were at home suffering with 100 degrees. What a wonderful time to go to Alaska.

This past Saturday, Scott and Tiffany Ralph and their children, Chelsea and Brennan, had a birthday dinner for Scott’s mother, Shirley Bowden. Other guests were Kevin, Laura and Kelly Ralph, as well as Shirley’s mother, Hattie Moore, who recently celebrated her 96th birthday.

July 14, a cook-out was held in Delmar at the home of George and Ann Dyson. Forty-one of their friends and family members attended . They were there to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of the Dysons. Mrs. Dyson said it was truly a joy to spend time with their friends and family on their special day.
