Cleanup Day in Laurel
Laurel Mayor and Council have designated Saturday, Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the next community-wide Clean up Day. As part of the cleanup, all vehicle batteries and tires must be stacked separate from the regular items. All items must also be bagged or placed in a box.
Laurel’s Public Works crews will be assisted by members of Mayor and Council, as well as other staff members. Local businessman Johnny Janosik will be donating the use of two trash compactor trucks and drivers. The town is seeking volunteers from local service organizations and citizens to help with the clean up. Mayor John Shwed said he hopes to see the Clean up Day be “a real community event.”
Anyone interested in volunteering to be part of the clean up crew can call Laurel Town Hall at 302-875-2277 for more details.
