Preschool to begin Sept. 3
Mt. Olivet Preschool will begin its fall session Wednesday, Sept. 3, with morning classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There are still a few spaces available for the 2-year-old and 4-year-old programs. For information call the church, 629-4458, or Linda Stephenson, 629-2786.

Temple to hold conference
The Rehoboth Temple of Praise, Laurel, will hold a youth conference Sept. 12 and 13 at the Sands Hotel, Rehoboth Beach. To register or for details, call 875-5545.

Cannon to serve ice cream
The Cannon United Methodist Women’s Society will have an ice cream social Saturday, Aug. 23, 4 p.m. at the church. The women will serve oyster fritter sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches and hot dogs, as well as oyster platters. Homemade ice cream and cake will be for sale, as well as baked goods.

Sandwich, yard sale planned
The Church of God of Prophecy, US 13, Delmar, will hold a sandwich, baked goods and yard sale Saturday, Aug. 23, and Saturday, Aug. 30, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oyster, soft crab and crab cake sandwiches will be available, as well as cheese steak subs, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and baked goods.
Rummage sale is coming
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Seaford, is planning its second annual antiques, treasures and rummage sale Saturday, Sept. 27, in the parish house, North and King streets, from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m. Items will include antiques, furniture, linens, toys, electronics, kitchen appliances and Christmas decorations. Breakfast will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For further information contact Nancy Harper at 629-3984.

Wesleyan plans Kids’ Day
Laurel Wesleyan Church is having its fourth annual Kid’s Day, Sunday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is All Stars. Participants are invited to show up in their sports gear. The church is 1/2 mile north of town on US 13A. Call the church office at 875-5380 for more information.

Ninety & Nine to meet
The Ninety & Nine will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Seaford Golf & Country Club Monday, Sept. 8, 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others. There are no membership dues to pay and all women are welcome. Guest speaker will be accountant Nicole Gash of Dillsburg, Pa., comptroller at West Shore Evangelist Free Church, Mechanicsburg, Pa. The eldest daughter of Joyce Thomas, Seaford, Gash was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome four years age. She will share the story of what she calls her “supernatural healing.” Singer will be Jackie Calloway of Seaford. She attends Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel. Reservations are necessary.
