Park to host concert
Seaford Main Street will hold its next concert at Gateway Park on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. Performing will be “Work Release,” an acoustic duo with Kim Debonite and Karen Aevenson. The pair performs acoustic rock and pop, both classic and modern. Admission is free. For more information, call 629-9173.

Dinner will feature fritters
An oyster fritter dinner will be served at the Virgil Wilson V.F.W. Post, Middleford Road, Seaford, Friday, Aug. 27, 6 p.m. Carryouts will be available. Call 629-3092 for more information.

Group just for teens
An support group for adolescents will meet every Friday, 7 to 8 p.m., at 215 High St., Seaford. Focus of the meetings will be making changes in attitudes, anger and addictions. For details, call Children & Families First, Seaford, 628-2734.

SHS orientation planned
Seaford High School will host Operation HELLO Tuesday, Aug. 31, 7 to 8:30 p.m., for ninth grade students and their parents. The program will include a presentation from superintendent Kenneth Madden on school expectations. Then students will take part in break-out sessions that will provide closeup looks at various aspects of student life.

Tennis trip planned
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor a trip to New York City for the US Open Saturday, Aug. 28. The bus will leave Seaford at 5:30 a.m. and return at 9 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children. For information, call 629-6809.

Bikers to go through Sussex
The second annual Greenwood Trust Southern Delaware Heritage Trail Bike Tour will take place on Saturday, Sept. 4, starting at 8 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Western Sussex. Distances for the tour are 15, 30 and metric century (62.5) following roads in Western Sussex County. The metric century tour goes through Bridgeville, Greenwood, Laurel, Delmar, Bethel, Woodland and Seaford. Rest stops are placed along the routes. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. Participants will receive T-shirts and water bottles (first 500 entrants). Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford. Pre-tour registration is $20. Meeting to look at gambling
On Thursday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., a representative from Senior Adult Gambling Education, Lee Eldridge, will present a program at the Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, that will focus on gambling among senior citizens. Admission is free. For details, call 629-6644.

Supper to feature oysters
A buffet supper with oysters will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m., at Cokesbury Community Center, near Reliance. Price is $8. No carry outs will be available and there will be one seating only. Sponsor is the United Methodist Women.
