Preschool to begin Sept. 3
Mt. Olivet Preschool will begin its fall session Wednesday, Sept. 3, with morning classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There are still a few spaces available for the 2-year-old and 4-year-old programs. For information call the church, 629-4458, or Linda Stephenson, 629-2786.

Temple to hold conference
The Rehoboth Temple of Praise, Laurel, will hold a youth conference Sept. 12 and 13 at the Sands Hotel, Rehoboth Beach. To register or for details, call 875-5545.

Sandwich, yard sale planned
The Church of God of Prophecy, US 13, Delmar, will hold a sandwich, baked goods and yard sale Saturday, Aug. 30, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oyster, soft crab and crab cake sandwiches will be available, as well as cheese steak subs, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and baked goods.

Wesleyan plans Kids’ Day
Laurel Wesleyan Church is having its fourth annual Kid’s Day, Sunday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is All Stars. Participants are invited to show up in their sports gear. The church is 1/2 mile north of town on US 13A. Call the church office at 875-5380 for more information.

Ninety & Nine to meet
The Ninety & Nine will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Seaford Golf & Country Club Monday, Sept. 8, 6:30 p.m. The Ninety & Nine is a ministry which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others. There are no membership dues to pay and all women are welcome. Guest speaker will be accountant Nicole Gash of Dillsburg, Pa., comptroller at West Shore Evangelist Free Church, Mechanicsburg, Pa. The eldest daughter of Joyce Thomas, Seaford, Gash was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome at four years of age. She will share the story of what she calls her “supernatural healing.” Singer will be Jackie Calloway of Seaford. She attends Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel. Reservations are necessary. Entertainment books for sale
The Rock Church Fellowship is selling its 2004 Entertainment Book. Each book contains hundreds of two-for-one coupons and 50 percent discounts on dining, movies, sports activities, attractions, travel and hotels. The book costs $25. The proceeds will support the building fund. The church, on alternate US 13, Laurel, will hold a yard sale Saturday, Sept. 20. Spaces are $10 for church members and $15 for the general public. Youth Day services set
East Clarence Street Church of God’s annual Youth Day services will be Sunday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The former youth pastor of Clarence Street and now the pastor of Norristown Church of God in Norristown, Pa., the Rev. Richard McCray, will speak at both services. The youth, Spiritual Light and Norristown choirs will perform.

Rummage sale is coming
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Seaford, is planning its second annual antiques, treasures and rummage sale Saturday, Sept. 27, in the parish house, North and King streets, from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m. Items will include antiques, furniture, linens, toys, electronics, kitchen appliances and Christmas decorations. Breakfast will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For further information contact Nancy Harper at 629-3984.

Church to present drama
The United Deliverance Bible Center Drama Production Team will present “The Choice,” a play written and produced by elder Thelma E. Jones., Saturday, Sept. 20, 6 p.m. at Paul S. Dunbar Elementary School, West 6th St., Laurel. Admission is free. For details, call Jones at 337-7571.

Benefit gospel sing planned
A gospel sing featuring the Cash Family of Felton, Kendall George of Millsboro, Jim and Jennifer Parvis of Delmar, Kim Niblett of Laurel, Virginia Mitchell of Salisbury, Md., and Faith Baptist Church Singers, will be Saturday, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church (across from Bonanza) Delmar, Md. Cost is $5. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Proceeds will to go the patients and residents of Deer’s Head Hospital Center. Door prizes will be given. Donations will be accepted.
