Wednesday services planned
"I'm So Glad I'm Part of the Family of God" will be the theme for St. John's United Methodist Church's Wednesday night services starting Sept. 5. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. with a service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Classes will start at 7:30 p.m. Call 629-9466 for more information.

St. Luke's adopts fall schedule
On Sunday, Sept. 9, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Seaford, will revert back to the winter time schedule with Holy Eucharist Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Church school will begin at 9 a.m. Classes are offered for all young people with Lisa Lee as superintendent. Wednesday evening healing services are held each week at 7 p.m. with the rector, the Rev. Jeanne W. Kirby, as officiant. Immediately following the Sept. 5, Wednesday evening service, the vestry will meet with Charles C. Barton, senior warden, and Sue Short, junior warden. Adult choir rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. each Thursday commencing Sept. 6.

Bethel to host supper
On Saturday, Sept. 8, a covered-dish supper will be held at Bethel Church Community Building, Oak Grove, at 6 p.m. For details call Lucy Slacum, 629-7117.

Dinner and Yard Sale Sept. 8
Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, is having a yard sale Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 7 a.m. At 11 a.m. dinners featuring chitterlings, chicken and dumplings, baked chicken with stuffing, fried fish and crab cakes, will be sold. Church plans kids' day Laurel Wesleyan Church will hold its second annual Kids" Day Sunday, Sept. 9, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Market Street Park, Laurel. Children age 3 to 11 are invited. There will be music, puppets, T-shirts, games and food.

Ninety and Nine to meet
The Ninety & Nine, a ministry of women, will hold its quarterly dinner meeting at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford, Monday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Michele Russell, founder of Take My Hand Ministry in Greenwood, a nonprofit, ministry dedicated to improving self-esteem in women, children and families, will speak. Singers for the evening will be God"s Grace, a singing trio made up of Sheila Joseph, Susan Arner and Linda Boelens of Denton Wayside Church of Christ in Christian Union. Reservations are necessary. Jericho plans next meeting
Sadie Brunson of Evangelic Ministry, Wilmington, will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of Jericho Tuesday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m., at Mt. Olivet Church, High Street, Seaford.

Park to host gospel sing
The 12th annual Old-Fashioned Gospel Sing, featuring the Tombstone Cowboys, will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Delmar Park. Other singers will include Jim and Patty Jeannette, Smith Family Singers, Northpointe Tabernacle Singers, Rick and Cathy Benton, Terri and Barbara, Barbely Boys, Cornerstone Notes, Brewer Family and Tony Carey and Les Sherrill. Traditional mass planned
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. This month"s mass will be celebrated on Sept. 16. The Galloways to perform
The Epworth Christian School athletic department will present The Galloways in concert at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. The free concert will held at Epworth Fellowship Church. The doors will be opened at 5:30 and a local group will begin entertaining at 6. The Galloways have had several singles on the southern gospel music charts. Their most recent recording project featured producer Roger Talley. "Restoration," the title of the new recording, is a collection of thought-provoking songs and music - many of which are originals penned by the group.

Radio sponsoring workshop
A Precept Bible study workshop, sponsored by WOLC 102.5, "Joy On the Air," will be presented by Precept Ministries of Chattanooga, Tenn., Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 11, 12 and 13, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. Classes will be held each day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Classes will be available for every level of learning, from new students to those with extensive knowledge. New workshops and workshop materials have been added in 2001. Mt. Calvary to honor women
Mt. Calvary AME Church in Concord will hold its annual Women"s Day services Sunday, Sept. 16. The guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be the Rev. Bolindia Boyer, associate minister from Murphy AME Church in Chester, Pa. The 4 p.m. service guest speaker will be pastor Annie Custis of St. John"s Baptist Church (Mt. Joy) in Lewes. The theme is "Breaking Through to a Blessed Life. Dinner will be served immediately after the morning service.
