St Stephen’s fall festival
St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, State Street, Delmar, will hold its fall festival Saturday, Sept. 29, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Camelot Hall. There will be food, crafts, collectibles, a cash drawing and a youth car wash.
Gethsemane plans yard sale
Gethsemane Church will hold its Attic Treasures Day, Saturday, Sept. 29, 7 a.m. to noon. There will be an indoor/outdoor yard sale, baked goods, homemade soups and scrapple sandwiches. The church is 5 miles west of Seaford at Reliance.
Church of God yard sale
Clarence Street Church of God, Seaford, will hold its annual Women’s Day yard sale Saturday, Sept. 29, 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The church’s Women’s Day Services are Sunday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The morning speaker is Min. Alberta Waples. Guests for the 5 p.m. service are the Rev. Dorothy Wilson and the choir from Fitzwater Church of God in Philadelphia. Dinner will be served to all after the evening service.
Woodland to present drama
Woodland United Methodist Church, Woodland, will present Jim Hughes in the drama, “David, a Man After God’s Heart,” Sunday, Sept. 30, at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Hughes portrays the story of King David. Hughes is a licensed preacher from Vineland, N.J., and has been in the music and drama ministry since 1971.
Revival to start with music
An evening of southern gospel music will be Sunday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. The featured group will be “Reunion.”
Weekend revival services begin Friday, Oct. 5, 7 p.m., with speaker Dr. Brooks Reynolds and music by the Sounds of Joy and St. Paul’s Choir.
Saturday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Ed. Dennis and music will be by the O’Day Family, and St. Paul’s Choir.
On the Sunday, Oct. 7, morning service at 11, the speaker will be Brad Schutt, and music will be by “Judge Not.” Pastor Don Murray will speak at the 7 p.m. service and St. Paul’s Choir will provide music.
Day for women planned
The Ladies Ministries of the Church of God of Prophecy, north alternate US 13, Seaford, will hold their fourth annual Praise and Worship Day for Women Saturday, Oct. 6. The guest speaker for the 10 a.m. service will be Joyce Thomas, leader of the Ninety and Nine, speaking on “The Prayer of Jabez.” The singers for the morning service will be the Smith Family . Mt. Pleasant plans dinner
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church will host a chicken and dumpling dinner Saturday, Oct. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Rehoboth Day Care Center, Rt. 1, Rehoboth. Cost is $7 per person. Fall festival planned
The Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 N and Dorothy Road between Delmar and Laurel, will hold its fall festival and yard sale Saturday, Oct. 6, beginning at 9 a.m. Foods available include: oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, homemade ice cream, chicken salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, scrapple sandwiches, baked goods, soup and chili.
Sounds of Grace to sing

Jericho Fellowship International will feature Art Doakes as guest speaker Tuesday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m., at Mt. Olivet Church, Seaford. Doakes is pastor of God’s Covenant Discipleship Church in Laurel. Workshop set for leaders
A Precept Bible Study Workshop, sponsored by WOLC 102.5, “Joy On the Air,” will be presented by Precept Ministries of Chattanooga, Tenn. This workshop for students, potential leaders or current leaders, will be Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 11 through 13, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. Classes will be held each day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Classes will be available for every level of learning, from a new student with little or no previous knowledge of inductive studies to those with extensive prior knowledge. New workshops and workshop materials have been added in 2001.

Spaghetti dinner planned
Centenary United Methodist Church Promise Keepers are serving a spaghetti dinner Saturday, Oct, 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Centenary U.M. Church, Poplar and Market Streets, Laurel. Dinner will cost $5 for adults and $3 for children (6 to 12 years old) and will include all you can eat spaghetti, salad, meatballs and bread.
Homecoming service Oct. 14
A homecoming service will be held at Chaplain’s Chapel, near Bridgeville, on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2 p.m.
The Rev. Olin Shockley will be the speaker. There will be special music. Dinner will follow.
Centennials to perform
