Concord reunion set for Oct. 19
Sons, Daughters & Friends of Concord will hold its 81st reunion at Concord United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 2 p.m. A chicken and dumpling dinner will follow at 4 p.m. at the community house. There will be entertainment by Jenny Mitchell and Sounds of Joy. This year’s reunion is dedicated to the trustees of Concord United Methodist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Diane E. Melson, will speak and a memorial service will be held to honor Sons, Daughters & Friends of Concord who have died since last year’s reunion. Cost for the dinner is $7 per adult, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under. The church will be open and commemorative items will be for sale. King’s Ambassadors to sing
The King’s Ambassadors will perform Sunday, Oct. 20, 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel. Refreshments will follow the concert. The church is located on Mt. Pleasant Road.

Galestown plans homecoming
Galestown United Methodist Church will hold its 147th homecoming Sunday, Oct. 27, 2 p.m. The Rev. Tony Rosetta will be the guest speaker. Bud Scott will sing. Dinner will be served after the service.

Christmas craft sale planned
A Christmas craft sale will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church, 28714 Seaford Road, Laurel. Admission is $1. Spaces are still available at $15 per space, $20 with electricity. For details, call 875-8150 or 875-0771.

Church to serve spaghetti
Promise Keepers will serve an all-you-can eat spaghetti dinner Saturday, Oct. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel. Cost is $5 for adults; $3 for ages 6 to 12 and free for children under 6.

Woodland U.M.C. dinner set
The Woodland United Methodist Church Women will host a chicken and dumpling dinner Saturday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. Price is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 years and free for children 5 and under. Carry outs will not be sold. The church is 4.5 miles west of Seaford on Woodland Church Road.
Organ, handbell concert set
Taylor Harvey will present an organ concert Saturday, Oct. 19, 7 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel. Selections will also be played by Centenary’s handbell choir, “Celestial Sounds.” The concert is free.

Benefit gospel fest planned
The Laurel Community Foundation is sponsoring a gospel festival Saturday, Oct. 19, at the United Deliverance Bible Center, 7th Street, Laurel, at 4 p.m. to benefit Hope House I and II, temporary shelters for the homeless. Participants are: Geraldine Horsey, Beverly LaFazia, the Mass Choir and Creative Movement, Laurel, St. Matthew’s Choir, Laurel, and the Gospel Group, Delmar.

Eldorado homecoming set
Eldorado United Methodist Church will hold homecoming Oct. 20, 3 p.m. Bishop Peter Weaver will speak. Music will be provided by “In His Name.” Dinner will be served at the Eldorado Fire House.

Basket bingo planned
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Seaford, will hold basket bingo Saturday, Oct. 19, 7 p.m. in the church hall. Price is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Proceeds will help fund a trip to the National Youth Conference. For more information call 629-7999 or 629-3395.

Shiloh to hold fall festival
Shiloh Community Church, Shiloh Church Road, Laurel, will hold a fall festival, Saturday, Oct. 19, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a yard sale and food booths selling scrapple sandwiches, oyster fritters, chicken salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, peas and dumplings and vegetable soup. Mt. Calvary plans special day
Mt. Calvary AME Church, Concord, will hold YPD Day Sunday, Oct. 20. The speaker will be the Rev. Bernard Holland of Seaford. The Booker Street Church of God Gospel Choir will perform.

Aerobics to start Oct. 21
Body & Soul Christian Aerobics & Strength Training will begin its fall session Monday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m., at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford. Classes will be offered Monday and Thursday, 7 to 8 p.m., and Friday, 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Call 628-0554 for details.

Union UMC plans dinner
Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will hold a roast beef dinner Wednesday, Oct. 23, 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Price for adults is $7; kids 10 and under , $3.50.
