writers' seminar set at Del Tech

Revival and delivery services every Sunday
Revival and delivery services will be held every Sunday in October
at the Marina Pavilion in Federalsburg, Md., from 4 to 6 p.m. This
is a joint effort between the Rev. A. Pusey of God Loves Your Ministries,
Seaford, and pastor Tony Morris of Christian Outreach Ministries,
Federalsburg. The theme is "Last Days Signs and Wonders."
Service addresses breast cancer
New Zion United Methodist Church is sponsoring a breast cancer awareness
service on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. This service is sponsored by
the United Methodist Women and is entitled, "Sisters on a Mission
- It's Your Health."
The messenger for the day is the Rev. Nadine Henry, associate pastor
of Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Laurel. Henry is also a health educator
for the state of Delaware. This worship service will celebrate health
and wellness and memorialize those women who have lost the fight with
cancer. A dessert fellowship will follow the service. Information

Melsons UMC to hold homecoming Oct. 31
Melsons United Methodist Church, located approximately 5 miles east
of Delmar at 32705 Melson Road, with its pastor, Reverend Sam McWilliams,
will have its annual homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. with music

Church sponsoring Sight & Sound trip
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel, is sponsoring a trip
to the Miracle of Christmas Show at the Sight and Sound Theater in

Philip's 150th plans anniversary meeting
On Thursday, Oct. 21, members and friends of St. Philip's Episcopal
Church, Laurel, are invited to meet in the parish hall at 7:30 p.m.
to discuss ways to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the consecration
of the church. St. Philip's was consecrated on May 22, 1850, as a
chapel under the supervision of Old Christ Church, Broad Creek (Chipman's
Pond). Old Christ Church was itself consecrated in 1771. At about
1912, the supervision roles were reversed and Old Christ Church came
under the supervision of St. Philip's.
WOLC to hold annual fund-raiser
Radio Station Joy 102.5 WOLC will disrupt its regular program schedule
Thursday and Friday, Oct. 21 and 22, as part of its annual fund drive,
a "Sharathon." The 1999 Sharathon is called, "Building the Kingdom

The Knights of Columbus Octoberfest will be held at Our Lady Of Lourdes

Bethel UMC to hold hymn sing
Bethel United Methodist Church, Oak Grove, will host a hymn sing Sunday,

Laurel Ministerium to meet Oct. 27
The Greater Laurel Ministerium will meet Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 8:45
a.m. in the parish house of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, S. Central
Agenda items for the meeting include plans for community Thanksgiving
and Christmas celebrations and caroling in Market Square Park; establishing
leadership and action teams for 2000; and a presentation by Don Philips
on ongoing community discussions of a proposal to address emergency
family housing needs in Laurel.
St. Mary's sends money to school
St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Bridgeville, recently sent a check for
$5,000 to the Princeville School, Tarboro, N.C., to be used for educational
This school was declared a total disaster after recent flooding.
The homes in the area are vacated, the local chicken farms are in
ruins and businesses and transportation systems are non-functional.
