Trips for sports, music fans
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation has planned the following trips:
Thursday, Oct. 21 - A bus will take sports fans to Baltimore to see the Baltimore Ravens play the Kansas City Chiefs. The cost of $46 includes tickets to the game and bus transportation.
Sunday, Dec. 5 - A bus will go to New York City, where participants will be able to see the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall.
The cost of $74 includes tickets to the show and bus transportation. There will be time to shop and look around after the show.

Alumni to gather tonight
The Seaford High School Alumni Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Boys and Girls Club. Baskets, featuring the Blue Jay and the year 2000, will go on sale at the meeting.

Learn to Read-Aloud
A Read-Aloud Delaware volunteer training session will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. in the Seaford Public Library. Volunteer readers are needed at various reading sites in Sussex County. Call 856-2527 for further information.

Halloween parade set
The annual Halloween parade sponsored by the Downtown Seaford Association will take place Wednesday, Oct. 27. Line up and registration will be in the PNC parking lot at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. and will proceed from Cannon Street to High Street then down Arch Street and King Street to the firehouse. Refreshments will be served and prizes awarded at the conclusion of the parade.

Past pageant winners sought
The Seaford Lioness Club is looking for past Little Miss and Miss Seaford winners to be recognized at the Year 2000 pageant.

AARP chapter plans cruise
Seaford AARP Chapter 1084 is sponsoring a Panama Canal Cruise Nov. 1-22.
The trip will include 5 days touring Southern California, a 16-day Panama Canal cruise aboard Carnival's Jubilee, with several ports of call in Mexico.

Junior class to sell chicken
The Seaford High School junior class will hold a chicken barbeque Saturday, Oct. 23, on US 13 next to the Cock and Bull.
The price is $5 and proceeds will help pay for the junior-senior prom.
Halloween dance is Oct. 30
A Halloween dance will be held at Seaford Elk's Lodge Saturday, Oct. 30, 8 p.m. till midnight. Music will be by Mountain Blue Band.
Price is $10 per couple if they are in costume or $12 if not in costume. Cash prizes will be given for best costumes.

Class of 1994 plans reunion
Seaford Senior High School Class of 1994 will hold its 5-year reunion Saturday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m., in the Seaford Fire Hall. Deadline for reservations is Nov. 15. Call 875-4284 for more information.

Learn how to prevent crime
The Western Sussex TRIAD group will hold its next meeting on Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. at the Nanticoke Senior Center, 310 Virginia Avenue, Seaford. The TRIAD organization is a partnership between senior citizens and members of the law enforcement community dedicated to ensuring for the safety and crime prevention needs of the community.

Supper will feature oysters
Cokesbury Community Center near Reliance is hosting a buffet supper with oysters Saturday, Nov. 6, 6 p.m. There will be one seating only. Price is $8 and no carry outs will be sold. The dinner is sponsored by the United Methodist Women.

BVFD plans 57th dinner
The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company will hold its 57th annual chicken and dumpling dinner at the Bridgeville Fire Hall on Sunday, Nov. 7, noon to 5 p.m.
Cost for adults is $7.50, and for children under 12, $3.50. Pre-school children are admitted free.
Carry-out dinners will be available from the engine room at $8 each.

Babies, parents welcome
The Parents As Teachers program (PAT) invites parents and their children from birth to age 3 to a free Stay and Play Center at Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation (SDPR) on Virginia Avenue.
Sessions will be on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. (Closed on school holidays.)

The Seaford High School Alumni Association has a few coffee mugs left for sale at Burton Brothers Hardware and Tull's Hardware Store. All profits go toward the scholarship fund.
