The Greenwood Mennonite School will have its annual Benefit Auction Saturday, Nov. 1. The day begins with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m.
The sale starts at 9:30 a.m. featuring: collectibles, new appliances, furniture, Quilts, baked goods, antiques, NASCAR tickets, Lane cedar chest, Mar-Tek power washer, wood stove from Bylers, X-spa-dition hot tub, GE dishwasher, Longaberger baskets, American girl dolls, chartered fishing cruise, Honda generator, John Deere pedal tractor, crafts, vacation and golf getaways, 97 Suzuki Sidekick, local business donations plus many more items.
Lunch and baked goods may be purchased throughout the day, including homemade soups, pies and sandwiches. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Greenwood Mennonite School, established in 1928, celebrating its 75th year in 2003.
Greenwood CHEER is offering Defensive Driving for Adult 50+ on Nov. 12 and 13. The classes will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and will cost $10 per person. Please call Shelley Strain at (302)349-5237 to pre-register.
St. Bernadette Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, will host its annual Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 2, from noon to 5 p.m. (take outs until 4 p.m.). Cost is: adults $7; children (4-12) $3, and ages three and under are free. Take outs $7.50.
The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company 61st annual dinner will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2, from noon to 5 p.m., at the Bridgeville Fire Hall. The dinner features chicken and dumplings, chicken salad, all the trimmings, and desserts for $9 for adults, and $3.50 for children under 12. Carry-outs are available for $9.
