Seaford Police Chief is named - At presstime Tuesday, City Manager Dolores Slatcher announced that a new police chief has been named. Lt. Gary Morris, a 25-year veteran of the Seaford Police Department, has been recommended by the Selection Committee to serve as the chief. Lt. Morris had been serving as acting chief since Sept. 3. Lt. Morris will become chief on Nov. 1. He said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve. “I appreciate the city officials and citizens of Seaford giving me this chance to serve. I am proud of the officers of the Seaford Police Dept. and the community. I want to make a positive contribution,” he said.
