Harley Raffle to benefit NMH emergency room
Tickets for the Harley - Ford Raffle, to benefit the expansion and renovation of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital's Emergency Room, are on sale in a variety of locations, including online. The grand prize is a 2003 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Limited Edition Supercrew Pickup, a 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail, an enclosed East Tennessee Titan Trailer, and a helmet. The prize items were donated by David G. Horsey & Sons Inc. All proceeds will be used for the renovation and expansion of the Emergency Room at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Tickets are $20 each and are available at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, Frederick Ford, and online at www.harleyraffle.org. Order forms are also available at businesses throughout the area. Volunteers are also looking for businesses and events to display the grand prize and sell tickets. Winter Gala
The Auxiliary of Nanticoke Health Services Winter Gala entitled “Champagne and Roses” will take place at the Seaford Golf and Country Club on Saturday, Jan. 24. Dance committee chairpersons Patricia Olekszyk and Sherry Michalik welcomes everyone to come eat, drink and enjoy the evening entertainment and dancing. Firemen’s Auxiliary
The Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliaries Association will be holding their meeting on Nov. 19, at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with the business meeting to follow.
Driver Safety program
An AARP Driver Safety Course for people 50 and over will be given from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 2, at the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford. The two-day program, sponsored by the American Association for Retired Persons, stresses how older drivers may operate vehicles safely. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate entitling them to a reduction in their auto insurance. A 15 percent reduction is given to anyone repeating the program within three years. For information and registration call 629-8081. The cost is $10 per person.

Trap Pond Events Harvest Hayrides
On Saturday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. take an old fashioned hayride through the crisp fall foliage of the park. Listen to stories and roast marshmallows at a campfire.

Learn about deer
On Sunday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. - Learn some interesting facts about Delaware’s largest mammal, the white tail deer.

Princess lessons
On Friday, Nov. 14, 6 p.m., girls age nine and older are invited to attend a special series of programs at the Greenwood Library entitled, “Princess Lessons 101.” Inspired by the movie, “Princess Diaries,” girls will learn how to behave like a real princess beginning with table manners. OLOL bazaar
Our Lady of Lourdes in Seaford will hold its Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be crafts, attic treasures, baked goods. Many other activities and items. Craft show
The Greenwood Mennonite School Christmas Craft Show will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. There will be refreshments, furniture, baked goods, toys, crafters, and poinsettias. The school is located between route 16 and 36 near Greenwood.
