Seaford Community Thanksgiving Service
The annual Seaford Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Greater Seaford Ministerium, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church. Local pastors will be participating in the service. The Rev. Tom Gross, pastor of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, will be the speaker, with special music provided by the Atlanta Road Alliance Church choir. Light refreshments will be served following the service. A Thanksgiving offering will be received and will be given to the Seaford-Blades Associated Charities and the Seaford Mission. Non-perishable food items will be collected for the Seaford Community Food Closet. The Atlanta Road Alliance Church is located on Atlanta Road, 1-1/2 miles north of the intersection of Stein Highway and Atlanta Road.

Christ UMC new hours
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel, announces a permanent change in the start time of its Sunday morning informal praise and worship service. The service will now begin each Sunday at 8:30 a.m., and will last until approximately 9:15 a.m. The start of traditional Sunday services will remain at 11 a.m. For more information, contact the church office at 875-4233.

Prayer and Healing Services
On Sunday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m., and on Sunday evenings thereafter through December, a service of prayer and healing will be offered to the community at St. Johnís United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. The service will include music, a brief Bible meditation, prayer for healing, and anointing with oil for those desiring it. The service will be especially suited for those seeking Godís healing for hurt or brokenness in their lives, those facing surgery, those seeking physical healing, those who wish to intercede for others, and those who wish to end their day with a time of prayer and reflection.

The Signs of Light
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, of Laurel, will have a Sunday Evening Service on Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m. Performing will be Maria Hastings, Keith Elliott, Susan Davis, The Signs of Light (members Stephanie Jones and Kelsey Collins) and you. Join us as we sing and praise the Lord. Refreshments to follow.

Hymn Sing at Concord
ďDivine Inspiration,Ē a group made up of all ages from the Harmony United Methodist Church in Harmony, Md. (Easton District) will provide contemporary-style music on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m., at Concord United Methodist Church, near Seaford. A covered dish dinner will be held afterward at the Community House. Concord UMC is located at 25322 Church Road, just off Route 20 East. For more information, contact the Rev. Back Home Service
A Back-Home Service will be on Sunday, Nov. 30, at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, W. 8th Street, Laurel, at 4 p.m., with Elder C.L. Blackshear, pastor; Elder Charles Johnson, assistant pastor. The speaker will be Bishop L.T. Blackshear from Bibleway Temple in Dover. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Sight & Sound trip
Harvest Christian Church is sponsoring a bus trip to the Sight and Sound theater for its Christmas show on Dec. 27. Dinner is included at Hershey Farms. A limited amount of tickets are available. Deadline for confirmation is Nov. 14. For additional information call 629-9879.
Trip to Philadelphia
Bridgeville Charge United Methodist churches are planning a trip to Wharton Wesley United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 16. The bus will leave from Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, at 7 a.m. After the morning service, there will be a tour of Mother Bethel AME Church and Tindley Temple in Philadelphia. Menís Day services
Menís Day will be observed Sunday, Nov. 23, at the C.H. Foggie AME Zion Church in Bridgeville. The Rev. William Dent, pastor of Wallace Temple AME Zion Church in Rhodesdale, Md., will speak at the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Lewis N. Watson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Salisbury, will speak at the 3:30 p.m. service. Members of his churchís choir and congregation will also be there. The step team, Christian Brothers With Step, will perform, as will choirs from St. Johnís Second Baptist Church in Millsboro and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bridgeville. Monthly Latin Mass
A Latin Mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on Nov. 16. Concert with Youth Choir
There will be a concert featuring Holy Trinity Church of God Youth Choir from Reading, Pa., at the Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford, on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. The concert is free to all. Sunday, Nov. 30, is Youth Day at the church. The Rev. William Lockhart, youth pastor of Holy Trinity Church of God, Reading, is the messenger for the 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. worship services.

Concord cookbook
Concord United Methodist Church has published a cookbook, ďSharing Concordís BestóRecipes from Concordís Generations.Ē The cookbook has more than 340 recipes, from current members as well as from the churchís first cookbook printed in the 1980s.
