Recording artist coming to Seaford
Alan McGill, who for many years was one of the most recorded soloists in the field of religious music, will present a program of "Song and Christian Testimony" at First Baptist Church, 543 N. Bradford St., Seaford, Sunday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m.
McGill has recorded numerous single records and 23 albums.
Early in his Christian recording career while under contract in Hollywood, his rendition of "Each Step of the Way" became the fastest-selling sacred record in America.
There is no admission charge.

Ninety and Nine to hold Christmas dinner
The Ninety & Nine invites women to its annual Christmas dinner at the Seaford Golf & Country Club on Monday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m.
The Ninety & Nine is a ministry which was formed in 1984 by a group of women who care about the needs of others.
The speaker will be Barbara Wilson from Laurel. Wilson taught in the public school system and Delaware Technical & Community College for 30 years.
During her career she also taught seminars and workshops for educators, and business and industry workers.
After Wilson's retirement in 1991, she was active in ministry at St. John's UMC in Seaford, serving as volunteer lay pastor of visitation. On July 4, she was appointed pastor of the Laurel-Mt. Pleasant Charge.
She plans to continue theological studies at Duke University until she concludes her requirements to be a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church.
Music will be provided by Esther Marval.

Trip to Sight & Sound theater is planned
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel, is sponsoring a trip to "The Miracle of Christmas Show" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
The cost of $71 includes transportation by Savages' bus service, buffet meal, ticket to the show, shopping stop at Rockvale Mall and a short tour of holiday lighting in Lancaster.

Shiloh Ministries to be introduced
On Sunday, Dec. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m., an open house will be held at the home of Randy and Barbara Walter to introduce Shiloh Ministries, which is being developed as a disciplining and training program for single mothers and their children. Anyone interested in finding out more about this ministry is welcome to come.

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Wal-Mart Store on U.S. 50 in Berlin, Md., a bake sale will be held between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to benefit Shiloh Ministries.

Kids' Club set for every Wednesday
Christ United Methodist Church, Laurel, is hosting a weekly, after-school fellowship group for children called Kids' Club. The weekly fellowship group will include safe homework hours, tutoring, meals, music, recreation and crafts. The club will meet on each Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Church activity will give parents night out
The Seaford Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a Parents Night Out program. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend "Christmas is Coming" on Friday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. To obtain more information or register (must be registered), call Sandy at 628-9808. Dinner will be provided. There is no charge for this program. A parent must bring and pick up the child.

Church to stage a live nativity scene
Providence United Methodist Church, Shortly Road, Georgetown, will hold its second annual live nativity Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Animals and music will be featured and refreshments will be served.

Pianist to perform at First Baptist, Seaford
G. Richard Deal, concert pianist and recording artist, will present a sacred piano concert at First Baptist Church, Seaford, Sunday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. He will give a second performance at the Seaford Christian Academy on Dec. 6.
Deal is from the Chicago, Ill., area and has presented nearly 1,900 sacred and classical piano concerts in Europe, Asia, North and South America, including numerous solo concerts in the United States. He has also performed with symphony orchestras including an appearance at Chicago's historic Orchestra Hall. He is a graduate of the American Conservatory of Music, the Moody Bible Institute and the Sherwood Conservatory, all of Chicago.
He has been a participant in several international piano competitions including the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia. He arranges his own sacred piano arrangements and has released five professional recordings. The most recent one is entitled "Piano Favorites," a collection of favorite classical selections.

Women's association plans celebration
The Seaford Presbyterian Women's Association is holding a Christmas celebration, "The Birth of Christ in Scripture and Carol," on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. All women are invited. Toiletries will be collected for local shelters. The church is located on Bridgeville Road.

St. John's to present music of the season
The choirs of St. John's United Methodist Church of Seaford will present their annual concert of Christmas music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, in the church sanctuary. A selection of music ranging from traditional carols to contemporary anthems will be performed.
The Choirs of St. John's, including the adult choir, the handbell choir and the newly formed wind ensemble, are under the direction of David R. Miller. Ralph Holland will provide the organ accompaniment.
Admission is free. St. John's is located on the corner of Pine and Poplar streets in Seaford.
