Trip to Sight & Sound theater is planned
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel, is sponsoring a trip to "The Miracle of Christmas Show" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
The cost of $71 includes transportation by Savages' bus service, buffet meal, ticket to the show, shopping stop at Rockvale Mall and a short tour of holiday lighting in Lancaster.

Women's association plans celebration
The Seaford Presbyterian Women's Association is holding a Christmas celebration, "The Birth of Christ in Scripture and Carol," on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m.
All women are invited.
Toiletries will be collected for local shelters. The church is located on Bridgeville Road.

Jericho to present weight loss expert
Jericho International will present weight loss program instructor Donna Lucia Downs Tuesday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Church, Seaford.
Downs, Centreville, Md., is an instructor with Weigh Down, a Christian-based program which helps people lose weight.
Recently, Downs, who lost 95 pounds through the program, and her husband Tom, who lost 75 pounds, appeared on television.
Downs will sing two songs from her new CD, "Remnant," accompanied by the music group "Myrrh."

Service will remember deceased children
Peninsula Regional Medical Center and the Bereavement Services Team will hold a candle lighting memorial service to remember babies who have died. The service will be Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Saint John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland, Md., at 7 p.m.
Deceased babies, including those who were miscarried or stillborn, will be remembered.
The medical center's acting director of pastoral care, the Rev. Ike Ledger, and the Rev. Gertrude Brown of the Sharptown Charge will officiate at the memorial service.
A reception in the church hall will follow.
A candle will be lit in the memory of each child.

St John's choirs to sing music of the season
The choirs of St. John's United Methodist Church of Seaford will present their annual concert of Christmas music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, in the church sanctuary.
A selection of music ranging from traditional carols to contemporary anthems will be performed.
The choirs of St. John's, including the sanctuary (adult) choir, the handbell choir, and the newly formed wind ensemble are under the direction of David R. Miller.
Ralph Holland will provide the organ accompaniment.
Admission is free. St. John's is located on the corner of Pine and Poplar streets in downtown Seaford.

Alliance Church to present cantata
The Christmas cantata, "From Heaven's Throne," will be presented by the choir of the Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Friday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. The choir is under the direction of Richard Trice.
An organ prelude featuring organist Kevin Chamberlain will begin a half-hour before the cantata.
The church is located on Atlanta Road, Seaford, 1.5 miles north of the Nylon Capital Shopping Plaza.

Jericho conference set for March 2000
Jericho Fellowship International's Association of Vineyard Churches East Coast Women's Conference will be held March 23 through 25 in Ocean City, Md. Conference speakers and workshop teachers from Maine to California will be attending. The worship leader is coming from London and her worship team is coming from North Carolina.
Jericho founder Helen Lucia Moore will be speaking the morning of March 24.

Church to celebrate traditional mass
