St. Lukeís Christmas services
The Christmas season at St. Lukeís Episcopal Church, Seaford, starts Tuesday, Dec. 24, 7:30 p.m. with the ChristMass: The Eve of the Nativity Festival Holy Eucharist Candlelight Service for the whole family. The service will include music and the placing of the figures in the creche by children.
On Wednesday, Dec. 25, the First Day of Christmas, a 9 a.m. Holy Eucharist service will be held.
The church will hold one service Sunday, Dec. 29, beginning at 10 a.m. The First Sunday after Christmas Day: Christmas Festival of Lessons and Music will be followed by a Christmas cookies coffee hour. Church school will be held at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, Jan. 5, the celebration of the Feast of the Epiphany will be celebrated with Holy Eucharist at 8 and 10 a.m. Church school will start at 9 a.m.
Christmas Day dinner set
New Zion United Methodist Church, West 6th St., Laurel, will hold a Christmas dinner Dec. 25, from noon to 2 p.m. The dinner, free to all, will include turkey and dressing, fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, candied yams, rolls and corn bread, pie and cake.
St. Paulís to mark new year
St. Paulís United Methodist Church, south of Hearnís Crossroads on Old Stage Road, Laurel, is holding a New Yearís Eve service, Dec. 31, at 9 p.m. Music will be performed by Right Road Band, the Oliphant Family, Sounds of Joy and Old Time Religion. For details, call 875-7900 or 856-6107.
Union U.M.C. plans dinner
Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will hold its monthly Union Station Dinner Wednesday, Jan. 1, 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The menu will include traditional New Yearís Day fare, pork and sauerkraut, black-eyed peas and ham, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert. Price for adults is $7, for kids 10 and under, $3.50. Proceeds benefit the church.
Traditional mass to be Jan. 19
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. This monthís mass will be celebrated on Jan.19.
