Nanticoke makes special delivery

Nanticoke Memorial Hospital reached a milestone on December 20, 2007, by making a special delivery, the 1,000th baby born at the hospital in a single year. The previous single-year delivery record for Nanticoke Memorial was in 2006, when 914 babies were delivered. Ashley Goodwin of Laurel delivered her daughter at 12:54 p.m. Newborn Riley Elizabeth weighed in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 22 inches. Since 1987 the hospital has delivered nearly 17,000 babies.
